"Jessica Loren - Lavender Walls"

Jessica Loren is a great new female vocalist out of Canada who’s sound makes you gravitate to her music. Her wonderful vocals make her lyrics stand out like a seasoned vet. The album, Lavender Walls has something for everyone. You can hear her youthfulness on songs like LOL and A Sign of Life. The playful and upbeat tracks let you feel her young “pop star” side. Then you have songs like Rain Showers that an older audience would play in the background and enjoy. With songs hitting so many age groups it’s only a matter of time before her star truly shines. One album you defiantly want to pick up at one of these sites. Click on either of these two links to pick up the album. - SNIPER RIFLE MUSIC

"Spotlight on the sensational Jessica Loren !"

Introducing… Jessica Loren.

You cast a quick look first. Very pretty and striking-looking, cool and highly appealing vocal, terrific production, awesome songs. Oh, and then you find out she’s just turned 18!

So you put the record on. It takes you just seconds to realize that this is commercial mainstream rocky-pop sound at its best. The whole package is precisely “right” for its target niche. This alone should be enough to get Jessica on anyone’s radar.

I wanted to create a Spotlight section on this blog for a while now and it was obvious to me that Jessica is as good a choice to inaugurate it as any I’ll ever find.

Independent artists almost always have one thing in common: they create their original music entirely within their own means. Often in their bedrooms! And yet their results are sometimes so unexpectedly great that million-dollar major-label productions come across as botoxed fakes by comparison.

Some of these artists may be signed to small independent labels. But in almost all such cases this sounds much grander than it actually is. Usually, those labels are small indies themselves, struggling on the same level as the artists they’re trying to help!

So, with all that in mind, is Jessica Loren a good choice to kick off this new section of my blog? I decided to tick some boxes first. I had to be sure I’m recommending stuff which is “awesome!” – not just “really good.”

Songwriting: Songwriters I’ve shown this to paled slightly. And then played the tracks over and over!
Performances: Musicians who listened were grooving along and the singers were giving thumbs up left right and center, nodding their heads.
Production: Producers who checked this out felt it was bang on the money, and their faces started twitching…!
Credibility with Target Niche: Many unsuspecting innocents were exposed to this music, including large radio audiences (particularly during the “Laura and Ashton Show” on Spectrum FM). The number of listener requests received for “DNA” was greater than the number of requests for any other song from the entire station’s playlist!
Crossover: Kids love it, old farts love it. Rockers love it. Pop-heads love it.
Overall: The whole package is flawless, from the image to the sound, including the indefinable factors. People are drawn to this instantly and regularly request more information. You’ll catch yourself wanting to hear this music again and again!
This is not major-label dumbed-down fodder for the mindless masses. This is easy listening pop rock in the very best sense of the term: it’s easy to love and enjoy for a long time! It’s credible, delivered with passion, and produced simply beautifully. And most of all – the songs rock!

The vocal is powerful yet smooth, sexy and unpretentious, the emotional engagement is real and feels organic, while the musicianship of the whole crew is spot-on. It’s not just a model for other indies to aspire to – regardless of their style – it’s also a model for the majors to look at and admire. And if they want to sign it, they should get to the back of the line!

"Canadian teen Jessica Loren is a good singer
who articulates with skill and has a solid pro

in her homeland." - Music Connection

"The Music Week"

Jessica Loren - DNA
Jessica Loren a gifted 18 year old Canadian singer and performer from Montréal, her debut album Lavender Walls was produced by veteran Canadian producer Tino Izzo (Celine Dion) and is already released digitally with a physical release set for fall 2010 across Canada. In Tino's words, "Jessica has one of these undeniable tones and deliveries; she gets it”. But if her producer is certainly biased, others feel the same way about her music: "My job is to actually say what is a radio hit and what is radio ready. You just heard it" - Sid Olivera (BBC Radio). (Lavender Walls is available ex-Canada for album licensing & individual sync)

"Fame Games (www.meermusic.com)"

"She is wholesome this young lady. Very young but with a very mature attitude and sound. I think she's going to crack it." - Graham Keeling, session musician (The Police)

"Fame games (www.meermusic.com)"

"Well, lemme just say that it's professional through and through, it has a very polished top 40 type of sound and yet it doesn't come across as manufactured, which so much other stuff does. And I think we are lookin' at a complete package here, she looks great, she sounds
great, she has the right team around her. It's awesome." - Paul Sedkowski, Songwriter & Producer

«My job is to actually say what is a radio hit and what is radio ready. You just heard it! » - Sid Olivera, BBC Radio

"Fame Games (www.meermusic.com)"

"I think that this is so different. You listen to so many female artists in the charts nowadays but they are sugary, sounding the same. This young lady as points for her in a big way is that she's edgy and she's sounding just a little bit different and that's why I like this young lady." - Sid Olivera - BBC Radio

We think this release has the potential for mainstream appeal. It sounds familiar, like stuff you might catch on the radio, but it doesn't sound cliché. Nice job. ”

WHAT THEY SAID:

“My job is to actually say what I think is a radio hit and what is radio ready. You just heard it! ” - Sid Olivera, BBC Radio

“This lady is world-class.” - Graham Keeling, Session Musician (The Police)

FAME GAMES on her song DNA: “Top professional production, great songwriting, superb vocal… and the whole package is 100% ready not just to be released but also to become a massive international hit. It's pop, but it's GOOD pop. That Susan Vega-like opening verse sets you up beautifully for that power chorus which is just a knock-out. Briefly put wow!”

FAME GAMES on her song LONELY: “This is easily release-ready. Here we have an excellent pop song which doesn't come across as manufactured and dishonest (i.e. like most of what's in the charts), and with a really cool vocal too! This is the quality that's now expected - the public doesnt care you're an indie. They demand music produced expertly but with heart and soul. Like this song here…!”

FAME GAMES on her song I FEEL IT NOW: “Now, here's an awesome pop track, which sounds 100% radio ready. We have no doubt that kids will love this and … so will adults. Not many songs can boast such unequivocal crossover potential. Excellent songwriting here as in all her other songs, superb arrangement and production - and a fabulous vocal vibe too. This is a complete package, folks. Watch out, Billboard!”
