Jessica McCoy, native of West Virginia, has been singing her entire life. My mom tells stories of me singing as early as two and being the family entertainment at all our family functions. From an early age, Jessica knew that she was meant to be a Musicianary. Whether it was singing in school, in church, at a ball game, or at her own concert, God called and Jessica never hesitated to respond. From Jessicas perspective, The feeling I feel when Im singing to God is unlike any other. She describes with passion the reason she sings, Singing is where I find myself it is where I lay my crown at the feet of Jesus and pour all I have out to Him.
Jessicas goal is first and foremost to provide the ministry that she feels God has called her to share. Another huge part of this ministry, besides the music and singing, is missions work. Jessica and her husband know that they are called into missions and are currently Ambassadors for Praise Fest Ministries: Cruise With A Cause along with serving on the board for Lay Witnesses For Christ. Both of these non-profit organizations regularly conduct missions outside of the United States. Through this ministry, she wants to inspire others to see themselves as Christ sees them, follow after God and their dreams, and to not be afraid of where God may lead them. Simply put, she wants to share the hope and love of Jesus Christ.
Jessicas testimony is one that begins with a long struggle with self-esteem issues but ends in victory, all because one day she ask God to allow her to see herself as He saw her. It was in that very moment, that very prayer, that she saw that God in fact had an exact plan, an exact calling for her life. Since that moment she has not stopped nor slowed down in the fulfillment of that calling. With undying support from her husband, her mom, and numerous other family and friends, Jessica has pushed through many obstacles. She has succeeded in recording a self-titled CD which released in Feb. 2009. Since then, she has been booking a lot of local and regional venues, events, conferences and festivals. Also, she is currently one of the National Anthem singers for the Minor League baseball team The West Virginia Power and the Mountaineers of West Virginia University.
Some of Jessicas musical influences through the years have included Natalie Grant, BarlowGirl, Francesca Battistelli, Jimmy Needham, and Casting Crowns. These artists have influenced not only her singing, but also her writing. Jessica has been blessed to share the ministry stage with the likes of 33 Miles, Mandisa, Jason Crabb, Avalon, Darrell Evans and Phil Stacey to name a few. She has also worked with the Star Search organization, the Pneumafest Festival, JesusJam, Frank Shelton Ministries, One Hope Ministries International, Uni-Fest, Praisefest Ministries, Cruise With A Cause, and Lay Witnesses for Christ International. She is hopeful that she can continue to share a successful ministry within the family of Christ.
In December 2009~Jessica caught the attention of Christian artist manager & Developer Jeff McLaughlin. Jessica was signed to McLaughlin Music Group International Inc. in January 2010. Jessica is also recognized by Contemporary Christian Music Network International and Christian Songwriter Development Network. She recorded her first EP in Nashville, TN at Zodlounge in Sept. 2010. Currently, her songs are being played on Christian radio stations all across the world. Thank you to all those who have called their radio stations and requested it and also to the radio stations for playing her music. She is currently planning her 2012 {cross}Roads of Faith tour.
In the end, Jessica McCoy just wants to touch peoples hearts and souls with the love of Christ. She does this through an infectious spirit that rejoices in the promise, the victory and the sacrifice. I want to be an obedient servant who hides behind the cross and gives Jesus all the glory because I only have an audience of One. I am having a blast serving the Lord, one day, one song, at a time! She has an immense love for ministry, music, missions and for spreading the love of God.
