Bio
Jessica Ryan Liederbach debuted her powerhouse voice at the young age of five years old. Standing in a leotard and scarf, with Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” blaring in the stereo, to an audience consisting of her cousin who was forced to baby-sit, performing had already become second nature. It takes some people an entire lifetime to discover what it is that they are truly passionate about, however Jessica took to music like Juliet to Romeo; inexplicable love. Influenced by artists such as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, and Chaka Khan, Jessica began studying privately at the age of 10. Trained in musical theatre and classical theory Jessica began to work on technique, Italian, transcription, solfege, harmony, and sight-reading.
At the age of 12, Jessica found a home in the theatrical world. She began auditioning and participating in community theatre year round and took up piano and flute lessons. When Jessica entered high school she took lead-roles in the yearly musical (Adelaide-Guys and Dolls/Nancy-Oliver/Lois/Bianca-Kiss Me Kate) and was involved in Swing Choir, Chamber Choir, and Concert Choir. Jessica auditioned and became the Jazz Band’s vocalist and traveled with them to New York City opening venues such as Swing 46. At 16, Jessica joined a local record label “eNicar Records” and began writing and recording original music. The label toured locally opening for big name acts such as The Roots and Nas. Her senior year Jessica originated and played the role of Polly in the off-broadway pop-rock musical “Normal”; a show raising awareness about eating disorders that toured nationally in venues such as Broadway’s Snapple Theatre/NY, to the National Eating Disorder Convention in San Diego, CA.
Taking every form of musical knowledge accessible and internalizing it, Jessica now trains at Berklee College of Music for Vocal Performance. After thorough training in many genres, Jessica finds herself back at her roots in the Pop/R&B idiom. Studying Ear Training, Harmony, Music Business, Classical and Jazz Theory, and Music Technology, Jessica is using her classes as tools and advantages into the music industry and aspires to become the next explosive artist. With a voice unlike any other, Jessica Ryan is exactly what the music industry has been searching for; a breath of fresh air.
