Bio
Prairie girl Jessie Lee Robb is one of the most promising new singer/songwriters in the Saskatchewan country music scene. Her unique and vibrant voice has been capturing the attention of country music fans across Saskatchewan. With the upcoming release of her debut album, her fans can’t wait to introduce her to the rest of Canada.
Jessie Lee works double duty as a third year medical student and a recording artist. A balancing act she describes an inevitable “I love medicine, it is what I do. But music is my passion, it’s who I am”. Her passion for country music is rooted in the tones of the country classics; she lists Patsy Cline, Tanya Tucker and Patty Loveless as a few of her musical influences. To this classic style of song she brings a genuine sensitivity and a youthful energy, both satisfying those who grew up listening to the country crooners, and attracting new fans to the genre.
Jessie has been active all across Saskatchewan in the last few years, taking part in many competitions and performances. Both industry and fans began to take notice immediately, winning Jessie Lee a nomination as Saskatchewan Country Music’s “Rising Star” for 2006 and 2007. Some of the highlights of the past years include invitations to perform as an SCMA Youth and Adult Showcase Artist, songwriter’s tent at both Craven Country Jamboree and Big Valley Jamboree, and Telemiracle as a part of the National Cast. Jessie lee was also honored to perform as a featured artist at the 2007 CCMA. Jessie Lee loves to perform and entertain and her unmistakable energy makes her a crowd favorite every time she hits the stage.
Jessie has traveled to Nashville both to write and record her new album, which is produced by fellow Canadian Steve Fox. She is looking forward to completion of the project, begun in the winter of 2006, and slated for release next summer. With her distinct, fresh sound and presence, Jessie Lee Robb is sure to be a mainstay in the Canadian country music scene – and hopes to make Saskatchewan proud!
