Jessie Massabni

Born in New York City on September 1986, Jessie was raised in a musical environment in Montreal and developed a passion for singing at a very young age. Her father played guitar and her mother sang in a choir. Music has always been a big part of her life after her initial exposure to bands from the Beatles to the Bee Gees . Having a lot of energy and ambition, at the age of seven she got involved in school plays and choirs while taking professional ballet classes. She participated in many concerts in collaboration with well known Canadian singers such as Nathalie Choquette and Bruno Pelletier; played in a musical directed by Canadian Actor Dominic Darceuil; and, recorded a Christmas CD. At the age of fourteen, her grandfather passed away, which prompted her to write her first song. Through this heart-breaking event, she discovered an inner ability to express her emotions. She performed the song at his memorial in front of many people, which touched them profoundly. She attended art camps that included dancing, acting and singing. Her love for music continues to grow and she expresses this passion by performing at open mic nights and at various events.
