On the back of a winning showcase at Victoria's renowned Blue Diamond in 2008 Jessie Sparks without doubt is an accomplished Australian Singer, Songwriter & Musician whom continues to gain widespread recognition for her unique sound & awesome live performances.
In 2007, working with Mark Donnelly, Nathan Liow & Ken Lim, Jessie commenced production of her latest original album Breathe Easy next to Matthew Voigt & Ross Cockle at Sing Sing Studios. The Contemporary record has featured internationally in countless venues & aired on numerous radio stations & podcasts, & continues to do so throughout 2008! Accompanied by interviews & print & online reviews, the album has been commended by longstanding industry figures such as Daryl Braithwaite, Russell Morris, Renee Geyer, Peter Smith & Christine Sullivan.
Following successful performances in NZ alongside maestro James Schneider, Jessie also completed a brief Acting Intensive program at NIDA & featured for a YCA charity event. Having consulted with David Keogh at Perfect Pitch, Kim Morley at Salt Productions & Abby Gee at One Little Indian the record has been endorsed to TuneCore with various offers still under consideration.
In 06 reviewed by IMG Music & with tracks airing on Generation Mix, Direct Music Media & Pulse Rated (where voted into the USA Hot Trax), Jessie completed an Advanced Jazz Piano course with Steve Sedegreen via the CAE & appeared in a number of independent short films with SU.
In 05 succeeding her support performance for acclaimed band Frost, Jessie endorsed recordings to Antichocko Productions for an SBS TV series & partnered with some of Victorias leading entertainment agencies, music venues & event management companies.
In 04 after consulting with Dean Karena at Beagle Productions Jessie collaborated on recordings with Greg O'Shea & Dorian West. Despite an offer from Warner she went on to record an EP with Strange Fruit Jazz Band (comprising of Lei Gu, Ian Rutherford, David Upton & Lim) as well as her acoustic duo (assisted by Carl Schubert at Metropolis Studios) following the launch of The Jessie Sparks Duo & Trio with Donnelly, & bassists including Ben Wicks, Chris Schurmann, John Kingma, Brendan Tsui & Lim to date.
In 03 Jessie recorded numerous Singles for JC at Hi-End Productions, Ariez 3 at INE-K Pro, Glen Oakes at Electrophonic & Jon Lee. As a store manager within Sanity Entertainment she also collaborated with Lee Trevena from Frost then re-united with Hi-End to produce her second original EP.
In 01 a move to Canada lead Jessie to record with Scott Woolard at Barrell House Sound then Owen Belton at Craft House Studios in conjunction with Apex Records, & throughout 02 her performances were keenly acknowledged by audiences all over BC.
In 2000 Jessie initiated a Bachelor of Dramatic Art at DU whilst promoting with Visions Casting. Following performances in LA, alongside Mark Fitzgibbon & Shayne Ryall her debut EP underwent production with Brent Debernardi at ESP then Joe Camilleri & Robin Mai at Woodstock Studios, later airing on Fox Radio.
In 97 Jessie was accepted by AFS to study in the USA where her vocals received accolades in Illinois, Iowa & Chicago, & in 98 she was granted a full vocal scholarship to attend the VCA. Also working at 3MBS Radio Jessie further hosted & produced various productions for Channel 31 & RMITV.
Throughout & well beyond an entire education Jessie has practiced & pursued numerous facets of voice, piano, musicianship, dramatic art & dance, all the while inspiring a repertoire & delivery that cannot help but strike a chord with devoted listeners or those who meet her music by chance.
