Jessie Von Presley

BandRockPunk

Modern southern rock with funk soul and a punk rock attitude.

Biography

Jessie Von Presley is a Southern gentleman and an American bad ass with a loud in your face rock n' roll band that has catchy hooks and devilish good looks. This is a self indulgent band that doesn't follow the trends, and who avoids dating their material with cliches of the times. They write songs they'd want to listen to rather than what they think people will want to hear. If you were to try to categorize Jessie Von Presley the best description that comes to mind would be modern southern rock with funk soul and a punk rock attitude.

Jessie Von Presley's debut CD "A New Order for the Ages" is a masterfully written rock n' roll album. It's one of those few records that you put on and listen to from beginning to end without any disappointments. It's quite obvious to the listener that these songs were written with an album in mind, while the songs are dramatically different from one another with tracks that range from rock anthems, to ballads, to dance floor fillers they somehow tie it all together with swing beats, distorted southern rock guitar riffs, funky bass lines, and of course the raw scratchy vocals of Jessie. Each of the twelve tracks on this CD could stand on their own as a single, but there are a few of the songs that stand out as being destined for the classic rock radio airwaves of future generations.

The true talent of any artist is only revealed at it's live show, and this is where Jessie and his band really shine with the hard hitting rhythm section and stage presence of Jeremy Christensen on drums and Roman Campbell on Bass, combined with the distinctively soulful guitar playing of CJ stiles. Then when you throw such a dominating and charismatic presence like Jessie out in front you're really seeing what a rock n' roll show was meant to be!

Lyrics

Already There

Written By: Jessie Von Presley

I got a bullet in the brain
and a knife in the chest
yeah I'm already dead
but never laid to rest
wear a necklace around my throat
made from a short piece of rope
that's being pulled way to tight
I know you wanna see me
choke, choke, choke

I'm a walking dead man
I'm going nowhere
no one to save me
cause I'm already there

I got a sick sense of humor
and an over sized tumor
I know there's no more time
and it's all over now
my only regret
I have one life to bet
no bullets in the gun
no pills to make me numb
just like a dream
when all you do is
run, run, run

I'm a walking dead man
I'm going nowhere
no one to save me
cause I'm already there

I'm just a body in a bag
with a tag on the toe
another nameless face
called john doe
wish I would've left a legacy
for the world to see
but it's too late now
lived a life that's forgot
now I'm a body waiting to
rot, rot, rot

Graveyard Disco

Written By: Jessie Von Presley

dance to the beat all night long
who needs sleep when you're beautiful
well it's the same old pretty faces
wrapped in leather and dirty laces
spin another remix round and round
the perfect soundtrack to get my fix
never last call, never last dance
every night's better, better than the last
never last call. never last dance
every night's better, better than the last

it's the good life, glam life, yeah a god's life
it's the good life, glam life, yeah a god's life
it's the good life, glam life, yeah a god's life
it's the good life, glam life, yeah a god's life

live it up, live it up, and let yourself go
live it up at the graveyard disco
live it up, live it up, and let yourself go
live it up at the graveyard disco

sell my soul for the price of a cover
and rent my body to the wrong kind of lover
I've got moves, they're habit forming
they think we're so nonconforming
turn it up to bring me down
all my life I've been spun round and round
can't you be just like me, all get high on my misery
never last call, never last dance
every night's better, better than the last
never last call, never last dance
every night's better, better than the last

gotta be you, I've gotta be yours
I've gotta be, gotta be what I am
gotta be good, I've gotta be bad
I've gotta be, gotta be good goddamn

live it up, live it up, and let yourself go
live it up at the graveyard disco
live it up, live it up, and let yourself go
live it up at the graveyard disco

Picture Perfect

Written By: Jessie Von Presley

I was born with the innocence of a virgin
and the stench of a whore
you're lookin' at a
pretty, pretty drama queen
and a dirty, dirty dope fiend
what a fatal mixture
narcissistic and so insincere
I'm so dirty and clean
I'm so sweet and fucking obscene

I'm the perfect picture of mental heath
as long as I pretend to be someone else
everyone look at me, oh how glamorous
everyone look at me, oh I'm such a pretty mess

been self destructive since I can remember
to every indulgence I'll surrender
I'll be on pins and needles
to soften the pain
till I'm old and feeble
and can't remember my name
toss and turn in my bed of nails
when counting sheep and all else fails
tie my arm off, and return to my, home sweet hell

I'm the perfect picture of mental health
as long as I pretend to be someone else
everyone look at me, oh how glamorous
everyone look down on me, oh I'm such a dirty mess

picture, picture, picture, picture, picture, picture
picture perfect
picture, picture, picture, picture, picture, picture
picture perfect
