Bio

Whether it be acting for TV and Film, Screenwriting, or performing as the multi-instrumental, singer-songwriter, both English and Japanese rapping act, Jest A King, Niguel Quinn effortlessly displays himself as the product of international influence.

Thanks to both his academic and acting careers, he has been able to engross himself in the cultures and lifestyles of people from all different parts of the world.  Although he had already drawn inspiration from Western artists such as Childish Gambino and Chance the Rapper his greatest musical influence would be discovered while living in Japan. Having learned the language, Quinn easily found his way into the Japanese rap scene where he was further exposed to Japanese rapper and producer KOHH. Following this and a chance meeting with future friend, and frequent collaborator, Eben “Hakase” Eleazer, he sought to find a way to combine these two cultures together to create a fun new and exciting style of music stretching from the West to the East and back again.

Soon after, before releasing any music, Quinn joined Eleazer in founding the grassroots music label, Stark Raving Mad Records—of which they were the first to be signed to.

Jest A King, began releasing weekly one to two minute music videos, known as the Friday Foolishness series, on various social media sites and applications such as Instagram and Facebook. Using these self-directed and edited videos, he has been able to display a large variety of his eccentric genre and culture-crossing tracks, often switching from English to Japanese seamlessly within his cadences of rap on top of production from other collaborators or original compositions using his own live instruments.

On June 30 2017, after an intentional leak a week earlier, Jest A King released his debut single KISS THE RING along with an “official unofficial” music video to support his upcoming album, KINGDOM.
