Bio

Have you heard about Jesus Volt yet? If not, that’s a pity, but not to worry, now is the perfect time to be introduced to this group of four outstanding musicians who are proud to present their latest album; « Vaya con Dildo ».

Presentations please:
At the forefront is Lord Tracy (vocals, harmonica, various throat noises) then there is El Tao (on all kinds of guitars), Julienas (with his heavy bass sound) and Mister H (lively on the drums). Having fallen into the fire of rock'n'roll, this band forges their own brand of music; a clever mix based on blues, very seventies funk/soul, and the occasional dash of electro or hip hop - these guys are far from sectarian.

And for those of you who are new to the group, a little bit of history:
Beginning with the albums, Jesus Volt's first opus, "Always Drunk, Never Sad", released in 2000, positioned the group as part of the New Rock Blues genre.
In 2003, after having met Jean Marie Aerts (Arno, Beverly Jo Scott, Urban Dance Squad), they recorded "Electro Button Funky Coxxx" with this artistic director who led them across their musical boundaries for a flirtation with electro and funk.
In 2004, during their Australian tour, the band met the producer of rockers such as Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Sacred Cowboys and Birthday Party; the infamous Tony Cohen. He jumped in with the four Frenchies and that particular collaboration led to "In Stereo", an album which was acclaimed by both critics and public alike. Jesus Volt was evolving; the sound was getting dirtier and more urban, reminiscent of RL Burnside, John Campbell or even John Spencer Blues Explosion.
But where this band truly stands out is on stage. With over a thousand concerts to their credit, Jesus Volt earned their reputation as solid live performers.
Based in France, their safe haven, they have performed in Poland and pass regularly through Germany, the Netherlands, Austria or Italy, playing throughout Europe.
It is their live album "Hallelujah Mother Fuckers", recorded in Holland, that faithfully captures that energy, as well as the testosterone, that they bring to the stage.
In 2005, Jesus Volt were invited to play at the legendary RockPalast Tv Show in Germany, a rare privilege in the realm of Rock where few French bands have ever been seen.
After the prestige of working with such a name as Tony Cohen, the group got lucky once again. The songs for the new album landed an immediate response from the legendary Australian rock producers, Mark Opitz.
This award winning music producer and artistic director is the man behind albums by AC/DC and KISS and has worked with artists such as
Bob Dylan, Alice Cooper and Hoodoo Gurus producing.
As the story goes, upon hearing the demos for the new album, Mark exclaimed "I'll take it, I like it, it's right up my alley."
Alongside Mark Opitz who orchestrated « Vaya con Dildo », this new album, Peter Deimel signed on as sound engineer. Deimel, from his BlackBox recording studio in Angers, France, opened his treasure trove of vintage gear to the group as he had done for groups such as Klaxons, Hushpuppies, Deportivo, Deus...
As Mark Opitz put it; « After Power Plant (in New York - FYI), one of the best studios I've worked in" .

And the result is a tremendous Rock album. Song after song invite you to take a trip with a singer who leads you across an explosive mix of guitars and powerful drums. A sound that is at once beautiful, airy, tense and intense. Rock which takes a hold and won’t let go.

VAYA CON DILDO will be released early 2013.
