...And Woodridge’s own “Jet Black Comedy” brought crowd-pleasing swagger to their brand of vintage rock, wailing on guitars to Howlin’ Wolf and ZZ Top songs and displaying their considerable talents on covers of tunes made famous by Pink Floyd, Bob Seger and The Band.
Bongiovanni said “Jet Black Comedy,” the winning band that garnered the highest score from the judges, will open for main-stage performer Andrew Salgado on Saturday, Sept. 8. “Below Zero” and “Supersonic Sled” will perform at the fest either Saturday or Sunday, at a time yet to be announced...

Our first ever Battle of the Bands competition took place on Tuesdays in April at Hollywood Stadium. Three great bands made it to the finals: North of 8, Shy Violet and Jet Black Comedy and competed for cash prizes. On Tuesday, April 26, Jet Black Comedy was crowned the winner of the competition and won $1,500. - Hollywood Casino - Hollywood Casino Joliet, IL

Bio
Rock n’ roll is alive and well for four musicians from the Chicago suburbs. Two brothers, Henry and Daniel Scherrer, poured their love for nostalgia and classic rock into a band called Jet Black Comedy. Henry, with influences stemming from blues, soul, garage, and psychedelic acts, and Dan with hard rock, classic rock, and metal influences, wanted to start a project that combined the passion and creativity of yesterday with the innovations of today. Started in Wisconsin, the brothers went through many different lineups before settling in Woodridge, IL. Bassist Bob Redman joined the band in 2010, providing thumping bass lines and the graphic design work for JBC. With the newest addition, drummer Eric McCutcheon, joining the group the band is ready to play the biggest festivals and the smallest dives. With the release of their self titled EP “Jet Black Comedy” the band aims to put themselves on the map and plans to gain the respect of their audience and peers, both as a cover and original band.
