Bio

Jet Black Kiss is producer/engineer and principle songwriter, Robert S. Liam (aka "Simon"). In 2005 Jet Black Kiss was born from Simon’s solo work in his personal music production and mastering studio. After a period of writing, producing, and performing, JBK debuted Star Rock Lights in 2007, which gained notoriety for its acclaimed single, "She's An Alien,” and spawned a substantial following online, accumulating a Myspace friend-count of over 100,000 and well over a million MP3 plays. Subsequently, at his Hollywood headquarters Simon embarked on a two-year production of the self-titled, follow-up, which was released on December 9, 2009.

Harder-hitting and faster-paced than previous material, Jet Black Kiss brought authentic metal roots to full fruition. On the escalating "Car Crash" (to be featured on Rock Band®), charged "Don't Fade Away On Me,” and ominous "We All Must Come Together," Simon showcased his signature menacing vocal timbre and pushed the tempo to urgency. Other track highlights, including a fervent “The Social Regime,” volatile “Illusions,” and free-wheeling “Psycho Baby,” layer instrumental distortions into a rousing release that appeals to any rock purist.

After the completion of the aforementioned 2009 release, Simon immediately delved into writing and recording the 3rd installment of the Jet Black Kiss legacy. The new 10 song album entitled "Cursed" is a poetic and dramatic diary of loss, love, sex, angst, fantasy and obsession. Bringing a new guitar edge, enhanced production chops, and a matured lyrical/vocal energy to the music has resulted in what Simon asserts is the best work of his life.

In the last quarter of 2011 JBK released two singles "Zombie Love" and a hard rock cover of the Garbage's "Only Happy When It Rains". On August 29, 2012, Simon released the first single of 2012 entitled "Dogs Of War". Simon continues to work on new material as well as rehearsing for live performances.
