Bio
We are Jackie De Los Santos, Elena Correia and Teresa Flores and we've been friends for the past three years. We came together in 2008 with the idea of forming a trio, incorporating our own twists and flavors. Our name - JET Pink Girls - has its own cute anecdote. JET is the first letter of each of our names (Jackie, Elena, Teresa) and the Pink part came into being due to the fact that at our very first rehearsal, we all showed up wearing pink tops, without prior discussion. The three of us are professional musicians; Jackie has a Master of Music and Bachelor of Music from Juilliard, Elena has a Bachelor of Music from San Diego State and a Master of Music from Juilliard and Teresa has a Bachelor of Music from the University of Southern California (USC) and a Master of Music from Florida International University.
We take the old Jazz standards, Portuguese Fados, Latin ballads and even Pop tunes from the past few decades and allow our classical training, as well as our latin heritages, to take over. What comes to life are varied arrangements that take familiar tunes and bring vibrantly different sounds and flavors to them.
