"Jewel Avenue AHX?"

“On Aug 20th, 2005, at an
event held at Rio Mesa H.S.
featuring athletes from Inglewood
and Ventura counties,
the crowd was brought to
their feet by a special guest
performance by Jewel Avenue
AHX of BrokeHouse Records.
One fan was quoted as
saying, “I’m an instant fan. If
he’s at other games I’m here
every time.” AHX brought the
crowd of 600+ to their feet.
AHX is a powerful presence.
Add to that a lyrical skill,
fresh, creative, and well delivered
performance. It is only
a matter of time before he
blows up. At any hip-hop
event on our schedule, AHX is
first on our list of names to
book.”

"Keep It Real"

“Man, this stuff is hot! I
was playing this funky ‘Keep
it real’ tune in a loop with my
Winamp for three days in a
row..... so keep on rhyming
fine pieces! Respect from
Berlin, Germany!”

"The New Generation Has Arrived"

AHX’s production values
are top-notch on the tracks I
have heard thus far. It’s hard
to tell from where AHX’s sensibilities
originate. They
seemingly combine both oldschool
and mainstream hiphop
and culminate in a genuine
feast for the ears.
Even on tracks in which
AHX is only a featured artist,
he tends to be the brightest
star. From the club hit “Clap
That Ass” to the profoundly
deep song “Problems”, AHX
establishes himself as a versatile
force in the hip-hop
scene.

Bio

Jewel Avenue AHX, a name that
is sure to be on the tip of the
hip-hop industry’s tongue in the
near future. Raised on the
streets of Flushing Queens,
New York, he was exposed to
hip-hop as far back as he can
remember, thanks in part to his
brother spinning records as DJ
Cor Dap. AHX credits his
brother as a major influence.
“If my brother had spun rock-nroll,
that’s what I’d be listening
to today. I’d sit outside my
brother’s room when he was
spinning records, and listen
through the door.” AHX started
to rhyme first though, envisioning
himself and his brother
keeping it in the family, with his
brother as the DJ and AHX as
the rapper. “I wanted to make
the records, not play them,”
AHX remembers.

For AHX, the desire to actually make a
career out of hip-hop manifested
early in the 7th grade at
Parson’s Junior High, while
performing under the name
“OMS”, or “One Man Symphony”.
About this time he
became acquainted with a performer
named “G”, who had a
modest amount of recording
equipment and seemed more
organized than most people
AHX knew. “I started to see the
bigger picture,” said AHX.

When AHX was 15, he bought a
4 track recorder, and started to
sample from anything he could
get his hands on. His early
work showed influences by
producers such as Large Professor
and Marley Marl. It wasn’t
until several years and many
dozens of tracks later that AHX
discovered he could perfect his
art by producing on a computer.
This allowed him to more easily
express the sounds and feelings
trapped in his head.
Over 200 tracks later, and dozens
of live shows here in the
States as well as overseas, AHX
continues to do what he has
always done: producing quality
beats and making sure his lyrical
content stays true to who he
is. “Lyrics are everything. I
write so that if you listen to
every word of every song, you
won’t catch every reference for
at least a year”.
AHX has successfully applied
his down-to-earth thinking and
vast musical knowledge to lay
the foundation for what he
hopes will be a pivotal role in
the music industry.
