Bio
(Rapper / Producer) Jewel Avenue AHX, a name that is sure to be on the tip of the hip-hop industrys tongue in the near future. Raised on the streets of Flushing Queens,
New York, he was exposed to hip-hop as far back as he can remember, thanks in part to his brother spinning records as DJ Cor Dap. AHX credits his brother as a major influence. If my brother had spun rock-nroll, thats what Id be listening
to today. Id sit outside my brothers room when he was spinning records, and listen through the door. AHX started to rhyme first though, envisioning
himself and his brother keeping it in the family, with his brother as the DJ and AHX as the rapper. I wanted to make the records, not play them, AHX remembers.
Over 200 tracks later, and dozens of live shows here in the States as well as overseas, AHX
continues to do what he has always done: producing quality beats and making sure his lyrical
content stays true to who he is. Lyrics are everything. I write so that if you listen to every word of every song, you wont catch every reference for at least a year.
AHXs production values are top-notch on the tracks I have heard thus far. Its hard
to tell from where AHXs sensibilities originate. They
seemingly combine both oldschool and mainstream hiphop and culminate in a genuine feast for the ears. Even on tracks in which AHX is only a featured artist, he tends to be the brightest star. From the club hit Clap That Ass to the profoundly deep song Problems, AHX establishes himself as a versatile
force in the hip-hop scene.
