Bio

To see where Jewsome J is going, you first have to get the history of where he has been. Born Samuel J. Jewsome on May 2, 1984 in Topeka, KS to James and Sheryl Jewsome. He was the youngest of four in a low income family. His parents divorced when he was seven, and thereafter was raised by his single mother. Sheryl raised her children with strict rules, fierce discipline, and strong morals, making sure they attended church regularly. Samuel was introduced to music by listening to his mother sing every Sunday at church. He can recall listening to his uncles jam sessions at his grandfather’s house. One uncle played the piano and keyboard while the others shared between the drums, the trumpet, and the guitar. Jewsome knew that musical talents ran in the family. When he was nine, his mother bought him his first keyboard. Discovering his own musical gifts, he taught himself how to play the keyboard. It was not long before he was writing songs and producing his own music.
Through his teenage years, he began rebelling against authority and ran away from home at the early age of sixteen. Living by himself in Las Cruses, New Mexico, Jewsome had to take whatever measure possible to survive. Music helped through difficult times by being the escape from the disappointments and stresses life delivered his way. Life struggles increased by the age of eighteen and Jewsome found himself behind bars in the Kansas penal system. After serving time for four years, he was released at twenty-two years old. Not sure of his next move, he returned to Topeka. Upon his return he began working on his first secular album, "The Jewsome J Show". During that time he returned to his roots in the church, where he confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. By the completion of the album he had surrendered all to Christ. Before the album was due to be released he decided to trash the project. His producer was shocked to hear the news but Jewsome reassured him that he would be back in a couple of months with all new material. Jewsome knew he could not serve two gods so he decided to start a new project that would edify God.
Over the next two months the Holy Spirit gave him the album, "The New Mold." His songs deliver the truth and shine the light about Jesus Christ. Two of the songs on the album, "God You Are My Everything" and "How he Keep Me" express his struggles and downfalls. He explains how to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior in "God Wants You Saved", and "Are You Loving Your Neighbor".
Jewsome J was called by God to minister deliverance from the hands of the enemy to the youth. Delivering them into the unchanging hands of our Father has become a passion. He uses his lyrics to preach the gospel of the Cross. That is why this CD is a must have for all.
