Bio

Enthralled and impassioned by hip hop, Jezt Bryan emerged from the malignance of killer emcees, ambitiously writing flows to top what exists on the Detroit underground hip hop scene. Through his meticulous rhyming style and lyrical content, the red eyed rapper sought to gain the respect of Detroit underground crews that included the likes of Royce The 5’9, D12, Eminem, Hush, The Eastside Chedda Boyz and Slum Village. “I didn’t want to be accepted by these guys, I wanted to be better than these guys”, recalls Jezt Bryan of his relationship with underground hip hop.

Jezt Bryan emerged on the scene in 1996, as part of the hip hop duo Mafioso. Their debut independent release “Knowledge, Truth, and Hope” created a buzz in the local hip hop community and awarded the group instant celebrity status in their local high school. “…the pair shows the promise to become a nationally known act,” boasted City View Magazine of the mafia-influenced duo. Mafioso sold all of the copies of their limited release but soon split, when a decision had to be made between their education and musical passion. Jezt Bryan’s resolution was to go solo, a decision made to nurture his growth into a highly respected emcee and to fuel his aspirations of becoming one of the best.

In 2003, Jezt Bryan reappeared with a vengeance. The frustration and fiery he felt inside, characterized by his red eyes. The sales of his debut solo release “Red Eyes” were driven by performances in front of packed houses that included opening for 112 in Chicago and entertaining the American Troops out in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The buzz of his solo release prompted dozen of offers from local labels but Jezt Bryan decided he would be best suited under his own label, Van-Ally Muzic Group.

Jezt Bryan has been hard at work, finishing his anticipated release "Eyes on Fire" scheduled for a late spring release. “It’s every element of me in each song" admits Jezt Bryan. For the critics who may ask “Who is Jezt Bryan”, the rapper has the answer for them on the first cut “Who is Jezt B” where he describes himself as “Detroit city’s new voice smoking with no triggers”. In “Shady” the rapper proves he doesn’t need sixteen bars to prove he can spit but his lyrical essence is at best in the song “Bad Guy” were he puts his good guy image to rest.

Ladies and Gentlemen, without further ado, Van-Ally Muzic Group presents...Jezt Bryan.
