Jezzebelle are a two-piece from Dublin, Ireland.

"...Their high octane-propulsion, and driving dogmatic rhythms mark them out from the crowd…"
- Siobhán Long, The Ticket, Irish Times (Dirt Tracks album Review)

In June 2008 Jezzebelle headed to Los Angeles for 3 months where they completed a 55-date tour, playing support to Yogi (guitarist - Chris Cornell), Lisa Harrington (keyboardist - Smashing Pumpkins), and solo shows at The Rainbow Bar & Grill and House Of Blues Anaheim main stage. March 2008 saw the release of The Potential Collection Vol. 2, an acoustic compilation of upbeat songs by Irish acts associated with The Zodiac Sessions (named Dublin’s finest Open Mic Night by Hotpress Magazine). Jezzebelle song Bad Seed is the opening track on the album:

"…You can hear the passion stream from this track (’Bad Seed’) with a nice upbeat acoustic folk blues feel. The vocals stand out pretty well as they simmer a bit like Janice Joplin early blues number but a sweet little tune..." *****
- T. Halpin, MusicReview.com (Potential Collection Vol. 2 album Review)

"…A powerful and potential song…"
- Danny McElhenny, The Daily Mail (4 star review of The Potential Collection Vol. 2)

To coincide with this release, the music video for Bad Seed was launched in February and has since been featured on TG4’s POP4, City Channel’s Pure Music and on the web by YouTube, MySpace and Music Scene Ireland. The album was also named Album of The Fortnight by Jackie Hayden of Hotpress Magazine following the release.

In May Jezzebelle played The Carlsberg Kilkenny Rhythm & Roots Festival for the 2nd year running and after winning Dublin’s NOISE Concerts Battle Of The Bands, appeared as special guests for Eric Bell (Thin Lizzy), Don Baker and Rob Strong. Right now they are writing and recording material for their new album, the follow up to their 2007 debut - Dirt Tracks.

"…Dirt Tracks; a marriage of Acoustic Country Sass, Rock n’ Roll rhythms and Seductive Story Telling from two distinctive vocalists…"
- John Cleary, Kilkenny Advertiser (Dirt Tracks album Review)

"…Katie Carpenter is in possession of a powerful, soulful instrument…"
- Killian Murphy, Hotpress Magazine (Dirt Tracks album Review)

Following the release of Dirt Tracks, Jezzebelle won The Clonmel National Song Contest with their song The Road Ahead. This brought them to be a featured act on both MySpace and The Independent Artists & Musicians websites as well as local and national radio play including appearances on Newstalk’s Taste, FM104’s Open Mic and Phantom FM’s Access All Areas.

"…Absolutely Great! Jezzebelle don't sound like anybody else around…"
- Fm104’s Open Mic with Ruairi Carroll

Lyrics

Come On Home

Written By: Burke/Carpenter

I met a man who knows your name, how I felt and who I blame
You have me laughin’ at his shoes, oh I got pieces of ya

Little boys don’t understand, where your gone and why you can’t
Pick the clothes up from the floor, oh he got pieces of ya

Lyin’ on the fence I’m here I’m waitin’
It don’t make no sense breathin’ but fadin’
Oh won’t you come on home

They’re callin’ heavy at our door, told my story they want more
Got to get myself away they’re wanting pieces of ya

Crying from our nest in fear afraid and, afraid and hating
The reasons I give myself oh baby
Come on home

My eyes are gone rusty baby, like the picture you took
You said “I will be back baby” and I knew you would, I so knew, I knew you would

You took a a road to dark to save them, wait there baby cause I
I can see you fallin’ for a stranger, come on home again

Tumbleweed

Written By: Burke/Carpenter

Well I’ve known you too long it’s been way too late
You be knocking around here pleading your case
It’s a lifetime drawn away

Take a look around here can’t you see all is changing
And what we had is no longer blazing
It’s a fire that’s burnt down to the ground

I’m here recovering you went discovering
Seeking new land now defeated your back
Your days of blazing glory, now tell a different story
You’re on my territory.

Well you left me to roam round the plains
You aint home to mend what I need and defend me from woe
It was frightening to be left out all alone

Sure the men know your name you’ve your legend to blame
They don’t trust you know more on the streets you’re a fraud
Is it frightening to be left out on your own?

The Road Ahead

Written By: Burke/Carpenter

Bright lights, I’m hoping hard
That you’ll lie here a while
Black mountains, silver rhinestones
You see like I

A dozen winds blowing, I’m covered in
I set a rolling ocean flying, just running on
There’s a feeling, like coming home
I bet your ears right now are burning

It’s a new day
Living with no memory of old ways
I can see the road ahead is waiting
For you and me it’s meant to be so take me

Night enters through an open gate
Fearless we watch the sky
Strains of violet, prayers in sight
You believe like I

Now the rain’s coming, but you and me?
Funny, all we see is blue sky
I know all the stories
And they don’t make it to this book

It’s a new day
Living with no memory of old ways
I can see the road ahead is waiting
For you and me it’s meant to be so take me

I can see the road ahead…

Bad Seed

Written By: Burke/Carpenter

Everybody On,Everybody on, everybody on, everybody on (X2)

Take your time im reving it up for you
Not alot to bend to make ya new
All i got is prayers of freedom
Running to the point of reason
Too late im in a rut today
No better man to fake a face to face
Everytime im down we're even
when i wanna stay we're leavin

Make a rhyme a way to fill the space
Never rock to sway a lock to lace
Running to the point of cruzin
Russle up a round we loose in
I hear songs of yesterday
Trickle to my brain like a train a ching - ca - ching
Everytime we're down we're even
When i wanna stay we're leavin

Chorus

I fear i am the bad seed
You feel you're of the best breed
We are nothing but carefree (X2)

Take your time im reving it up for you
Not alot to bend to make ya new
All i got is prayers of freedom
Too late im in a rut today
No better man to fake a face to face
Everytime im down we're even
when i wanna stay we're leavin

Chorus (x3)

Give It Up

Written By: Burke/Carpenter

Give it up the best that i can serve
Seperate the water from the dirt
Never lie in depths that you rely on
Second thoughts are never o so run
All you wanted only just for fun
Im holding out, your hand aint found
You ride on

Chorus:

I dont know how to break you
I let you down (x3)
I dont know how

Crossing over winds of whats been said
Riding out before the day is dead
Throwing up the words that spit you higher
The damage of the one that threw you down
In the place of one i can be found
Writing to resist i watch you ride on

Chorus

Bee

Written By: Burke/Carpenter

Between you and me and the horseshoe of fortune above
We go and we hide and we play with our cares so far away
But bold as we be I’m a child and you’re my mirror
So wish and believe it cause life is as crazy as

You believe enchanted stories of us you make in your head
And you’re right

Here with you I find a place to rest my head
In dreams I can defy, today I feel the same

Skipping the real and the lucid but holding our stage
We see and we dream and we do without fear without bounds
And I know a game we can play for a while before we do life
You write me a letter that leads to another and

Show me round your book and your bed
Worries of us you make in your head? Its alright

Here with you I find a place to rest my head
In dreams I can defy, today I feel the same
Cause you return my tries, I hope you always know me
And find me open eyed and within

I don’t wanna age from the moment I’m known
And I wanna keep you so you and so real and my own
Never ever jaded and never full grown
A fantasy were not you no, this time i find

A place to rest my head
In dreams I can defy, today I feel the same
Cause you return my tries, I hope you always know me
And find me open eyed and within
