j*f*d + refresh

I'm John F. Downs (or j*f*d for short). I play music that is a response with all I have to the revelation of all Jesus is. Music is art; art is a form of self-expression; my art is a reflection of faith, hope & love as it's played out in my life!

Sometimes I play alone. Sometimes I bring a band, Refresh, with me. Refresh is a collective of several musicians; sometimes we're 3. Sometimes we're 8. It just depends on who's available and what God has planned!

I feel that I've found a happy balance in being honest and encouraging with upbeat music and relevent lyrics. All are on a life-journey; I cling to faith in Jesus and that carries me through every circumstance and it manifests itself in this music. Good, bad, ugly...happy, sad, aloof...upbeat, meditative, fun...every aspect!
