Bio

Originating from New Brunswick, Canada “JFR” is founded by Jean- François Roy, who has meshed his love of ’90s alternative/pop rock and classic rock to create catchy songs with meaningful and emotive lyrics that capture the essence of many universal themes.

JFR is notorious for their intense, dynamic, dramatic and physically demanding performances that leave audiences in a state of exuberant exhaustion, as witnessed by the crowd at the sold out show (June 2014) for their current album, titled "Project X". Which was supported by other follow-up shows in Western Canada to build momentum.

“JFR” has toured across Canada in clubs and theatres from Vancouver Island to Halifax sharing their 90′s influenced alternative rock sound with thousands of fans and garnering college and university airplay in multiple markets. 2014's "Project X" tour continues and culminates into a massive campaign in late summer and autumn, taking the band across the country for the third time including an east coast CD release party in Moncton, NB.

“JFR is a hot commodity on Canadian college and University radio receiving airplay across the nation (Summer 2014) and they are poised to deliver their new singles “Take Me as I Am” and "Why" to commercial rock radio and active rock commercial radio stations across Canada in conjunction with the “Project X” tour dates.

Rock radio personality, Joe Cahill says, “With infectious hooks and solid production, JFR’s "Project X" release is a therapeutic collection of emotions played out with high energy and radio friendly melodies. Highly recommended.”

“Project X”, blends an infusion of electronic sounds with powerful guitar riffs to create energetic, epic, resonant rock. It is a departure in sound from their 2009 debut album “No Second Chance” which utilized such instrumentation as cello and keyboard for a decidedly more laid-back and introspective vibe.
