J Gist

J. Gist is the epitome of what you would call an artist and producer. J. Gist was first introduced to music by his mother who was a professional gospel singer. He then became influenced by artist such as: Stevie Wonder, The Gap Band, Earth, Wind, and Fire to name a few.

J. Gist began his career as a producer as he began producing various tracks while attending college. He has separated himself from other so called producers by having the ability to arrange and customize tracks, and bring to life ideas of artist that he works with.

He has gone on to do production for various artists such as; Young Bleed, Big Tuck and Fat Bastard of DSR, Mr. Lucci, Devin the Dude, Choppa “The King of Cars”, Erykah Badu, as well as various intros for radio stations across the airwaves.

While attending college J. Gist realized that he had a talent of adding his seductive and soulful voice to his tracks to add a cutting edge sound that the music industry has never seen. He continued to nurture his singing ability by featuring and songwriting on various artists projects from rap, R&B, to gospel.

J. Gist soon became aware that the music industry was in need of a new voice to be heard and to bring back R&B with songs and production that will withstand the test of time. The streets shape his sound and lyrical content of his music, which is influenced by his life experiences in which he captures various sides of love, life, and societies perceptions.

He is more than a singer. He is more than just a songwriter and producer. J Gist is the future of R&B. He has defined himself as the sounds of the streets. J. Gist is an up and coming force that will have to be reckoned with in the near future in the music industry.
