Bio

Coming off his most recent project, "Vintage Party", JG has found himself building quite the buzz among his listeners. The mixtape was a follow up to "Public Relations" which was centered conceptually around a past relationship that came to an abrupt end and was released on Valentine’s Day of 2014. What resulted was a piece of art that listeners could feel in their core and relate to on an emotional level.

“PR was about growth. It was supposed to create tension, it was supposed to make you feel uneasy, it was supposed to make you feel weak... but at the same time I designed it so that strength could be found in that weakness”-JG

22 year old JG got his official start at rapping as a freshman at Tennessee State University, where he was on a football scholarship.

“I remember getting that first refund check and spending it on a microphone and Pro Tools 8… I felt like, ‘shit.. I’ll be signed within the year’”

It’s been four years since then and no deal has come, but the industry is beginning to take notice. Recently JG was invited to New York City for a private audition with an undisclosed label, and is currently pursuing other avenues as well.

Moving forward JG has continued to garner high praises from fans and bloggers alike. VoicelessMusic.com in particular has taken a liking to the Tampa Bay native, posting his Youtube videos to their blog on several occasions. On his “Huey Newton Freestyle” video, VM had this to say…

“With the camera rolling live JG gets back on it for the new year with this bar for bar mic murder; even Huey Newton would be impressed. Is 2014 JG's year? We will see.”

Currently JG is in the works on a new project entitled Long Live The Dreamers, release date is still to be determined.

“I speak on what I know, not what people tell me I should talk about, not what the world wants me to talk about… It’s pure and wholesome. I really write whatever I’m feeling at the time. One day I might be feeling good and I’ll make some turn up type shit, the next day I might be in my emotions and really feel like challenging the views and perceptions of the world we live in. That’s what Long Live The Dreamers is about. It’s a collection of these different zones I get in all put into one project.”
