Bio
Jill Peacock is a multi-instrumentalist from Toronto, Canada and is now based in Brooklyn.
She released her self titled debut EP on Toronto’s DoRight label in 2017. This Nu-Soul offering,
with production from her Berklee classmate U-KEY (Yuki Kanesaka), received support from
Gilles Peterson on his BBC Radio show, and was featured on the CBC show Here and Now,
among others. Jill has opened for Moonchild and performed in the Revolution Series and the
Hum Series in Brooklyn. She released her first full length album Moon Garden in 2021 (self
released) where she worked with a variety of accomplished producers including Jack Deboe
(Yebba, Meshell Ndegeocello, Emily King) and Dane Orr (Sonnymoon) to further develop her nu soul sound. Jill is a
multi- faceted artist and also founded the Bolero duo Los Cielitos where she sings in Spanish
and plays bass. Her recently released new album, Inner Wilderness, is her most raw and personal
to date. The entire album was recorded in only one session at Pinch Recording in New York
during the pandemic. This is Jill returning to her original songwriting state: her and the piano.
The record features original songs ranging in topic from a summer party to domestic abuse. Though simple in instrumentation, we are able to
see Jill’s talent as a composer clearly with this new offering. 'Inner Wilderness' is now available on all streaming platforms.
