Lyrics

Feel The Rain

Written By: Jill Holly

FEEL THE RAIN

I know the constellations are out there somewhere
Beyond the city lights
And I know that you still love me the way you used to
Before everything got crazy tonight
But I’m craving that emotion
The city stole from our love
I’ve got plenty to be thankful for
Some how it ain’t enough

I need to see the stars
I need to FEEL THE RAIN
I need to smell the pines
To wash away this pain
I need to feel the sun
Shining down on us
I need to be reminded
Of the magic of your touch
I need to FEEL THE RAIN
I need to FEEL THE RAIN

I found some photos of our first vacation somewhere
On that mountain top
The memories flooded me with a yearning, a desire
To go back to that spot
I’m not sure how we got so off track
How we forgot where we came from
I can’t stop myself from looking back
To where we became one

Chorus

Bridge I want to know what it feels like to feel again
And not feel so numb
I want to feel the rain drops on my skin
One by one

Chorus

When April Says Goodbye

Written By: Jill Holly

WHEN APRIL SAYS GOODBYE
April came and went without much warning
Just a blink of an eye
Though she left behind a lot of tears and emotions
Placed them on my shoulder to die I watch her grow a little colder
That’s WHEN APRIL SAYS GOODBYE

She travels fast with so much baggage
It isn’t in her heart to travel light
To decide what to own and to relinquish
Is a battle she’s not read to fight
I watch her face growing older
That’s WHEN APRIL SAYS GOODBYE

She comes off so strong and independent
What a beautiful facade
Fear is her biggest motivation
It keeps her from connecting with GOD
She keeps her distance even as she holds you
That’s WHEN APRIL SAYS GOODBYE
That’s WHEN APRIL SAYS GOODBYE

My prayers each night get longer
And my love for her still grows
But there’s a hunger in her heart that shortens her gaze
When she finally lets you look in her eyes
That’s WHEN APRIL SAYS GOODBYE
That’s WHEN APRIL SAYS GOODBYE

I'm In This For Good

Written By: Jill Holly

I’M IN THIS FOR GOOD

I don’t need the stars all aligned
No special phase of the moon
I don’t need the luck of the draw
To see what I saw
I don’t need the strength of the Gods
No candlelight or wine
To know what I want from this heart of mine

I’M IN THIS FOR GOOD
Cuz you’re the only one who makes me feel
The way I knew I could
If you don’t know by now
I’M IN THIS FOR GOOD

I don’t need to win every hand
I don’t need to win first place
I’ve found the biggest heart
In the human race
I don’t need a mountaintop
Or an ocean wide
To tell the world what I feel inside

CHORUS

With everything I’ve got
Everything I know
I will always find a way
To let it show

CHORUS

Crash Course

Written By: Jill Holly

CRASH COURSE

Winding my way to the check-out line
When you stepped in my path
Asking me if I remember you from 20 years back
All I could do was laugh
Yea, I remember you
If you only knew

You gave me a CRASH COURSE on speaking out loud while my heart was skipping those beats
A CRASH COURSE on falling in love with a weakening in my knees
A CRASH COURSE on kissing
Long and tenderly
A CRASH COURSE in a heart-ache that wasn't so sweet
Yea I remember you
Oh I do

How'd you sneak by with so few lines
After all these years
A smile like that you don't forget
I can't believe you're standing here
This is so great and so weird
Yea, I remember those days
Just like today

Chorus

Hearing your voice I feel awake and alive
Sends me back to that innocence
That's so hard to find

Chorus

Lay Your Head Right Here

Written By: Jill Holly

LAY YOUR HEAD RIGHT HERE

When the glass looks empty
When the rainbow’s black and white
When doubt consumes you
And you’ve lost the will and fight
When the answers just vanish into the atmosphere
You must know by now
You Can LAY YOUR HEAD RIGHT HERE

When the world gets blurry
What makes sense seems out of sight
And you’re grasping for grace into the darkest nights
When lightness eludes you
When it once was oh so clear
You must know by now
You Can LAY YOUR HEAD RIGHT HERE

I don’t know your sorrow
You don’t have to explain
I don’t know if what I have to give
Will ease your pain
But today and tomorrow
Year after year
You must know by now
You Can LAY YOUR HEAD RIGHT HERE

Whatever misfortunes you face or fear
You must know by now
You Can LAY YOUR HEAD RIGHT HERE

Deeper Still

Written By: Jill Holly & Mary Dana

DEEPER STILL

I remember our first hello
I remember our first regret
I remember which hand you held
When our intentions met
Who could have known
How much we’ve grown
And that we grow DEEPER STILL

I remember this time last year
I thought this was as good as it gets
You had much bigger plans
I didn’t know it yet
I’m so amazed
You’re so unfazed
That we grown DEEPER STILL

Beyond anything I’ve ever known
Beyond where I thought we’d go
Just when I thought we’re where we need to be
We grown DEEPER STILL

I remember what you saw in me
I didn’t know I had
When I found you I found me
So much better than we could have planned
I love where we’re from
And who we’ve become
And that we grow DEEPER STILL

That Girl Is A Giving Tree

Written By: Jill Holly

No rustle of the wind that could shake her dry
A deep well flowing endlessly
No struggle too small for her to lend a smile
No sorrow too big not to try
A smile like hers can mend the thinnest thread
And heal the fragile heart of the mislead

THAT GIRL IS A GIVING TREE
Magically she shines
Through the darkest of times
Proudly I cry
Everyday I'm alive
That the good Lord gave her to me
THAT GIRL IS A GIVING TREE

She had to believe in miracles when she pulled me in
Rescued me from myself
One look at her face was enough of a win
She sees the deeper truth, nothing else
Illuminating everyone in sight
Transforming you in ways to feel a live
Chorus

When I hold her in my arms she fills me up
Constantly teaches me love
There is no end to the breath she gives to everything she does
A blessing for all of us

Chorus

Momma's Got To Have Some

Written By: Jill Holly

MOMMA’S GOT TO HAVE SOME

I’m never guilty of anything except being good
Never cross the line anytime though I wish I could
Always mind my manners
Always practice grace
Keep my soul from the fire
Hold strong to my faith
Why should only the single girls have fun
MOMMA’S GOT TO HAVE SOME

Higher heels, pouty lips, bigger hair, a sharper wit
How ‘bout a
Long kiss, a slow dance, a hot night, one more chance
I’m just sitting here lookin’ at gettin’ none
MOMMA’S GOT TO HAVE SOME Fun

What I wouldn’t do for a single night of true bliss
Gotta start taking care of my needs instead of his
Rev up the volume
Roll my stockings down
Leave the kids with the neighbors
Wake up this sleepy town
Why should only the single girls have fun
MOMMA’S GOT TO HAVE SOME

Chorus

Turn on those daydreams
Kick open the door
Let’s stir something up
Like we’ve never done before
Why should only the single girls have fun
MOMMA’S GOT TO HAVE SOME

Louise

Written By: Jill Holly

I checked the address on the paper and put the car in park
My first day volunteering
I felt alone in the dark
I rang the front door buzzer and waited a minute more
When it finally crept open
Louise was standing at the door

Louise
I brought some flowers with your dinner
Shall I warm up your tea
I can stay a little longer
If you'd like the company
Louise
Louise

I went about my business as if
I'd done it a million times or more
She behaved as if she knew me
Though we'd never met before
She said her eyes were once as pretty as mine
Now they don't work so good
And she'd like to cook to her taste
If only her hands could

Chorus

She's much older than my mother
Her husband died before I could read
She's been alone most of my lifetime
Or so it seems
Now she's living the moments through my eyes
I'm seeing the future in hers
I try to fight back the tears
But was it my pain or hers

Chorus

I tidied up the kitchen
And murmurred a good-bye
When she asked "will I see you again"
I answered with a lie

Louise
I brought some flowers with your dinner
Now I've warmed up your tea
I can't any longer
But I've loved the company
Louise

I Can't Thank You Enough

Written By: Jill Holly

I CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH

I hear you crush bones with mere words
And break hearts with finesse
You prefer to leave them scattered behind in a serious mess
Well his bruises have already healed
And his heart is on the mend
But I like what you did with his mind
How you spun him around and around again

I CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH
I Thank you so much
‘Cuz your old baby is my new man
He know longer yearns for you touch
I CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH
I thank you so much
‘Cuz your old baby is my new man
And this time he says it’s love

You seem a little stunned and dismayed
He’s not falling at your feet
Well the heart has a memory all it’s own
No question his prefers me
What precedes you besides your perfume
Is how more beautiful you think you are
What you did had nothing to do with love
Just some tangled up, twisted sense of power

CHORUS
BRIDGE:
You think you own the room
You think you own the air
You want because someone else’s got him
Still I’m happy you’re here

CHORUS

Calling All Angels

Written By: Jill Holly & Kevin Fisher

There's a voice inside my head I hardly recognize
It's coming back clearer, once I realized
It's my old friend intuition, My guiding light
Returning in time,To help me through the night
Calling All Angels, Calling all Angels, Calling All Angels

I've often wondered who I am and where am I to turn
I need to find the patience to help me learn
Don't you ever take for granted the knowing you provide
I need you more than ever, To keep my faith alive
Calling All Angels, Calling All Angels, Calling All Angels

Can you hear me, Can you hear me?

There are voices in my head, as there are stars out in the sky
There at least a million questions, a million reasons why
That I can't find my direction, Lord knows there no relief
From the cold hard facts of living
That burn up my belief
Calling All Angels, Calling All Angels, Calling All Angels
