"Review by Lisa A. Shiel-Indiespace Music Review"

In this age of teenage divas, I’d begun to wonder if anyone over the age of 19 could get on stage anymore. Sure, LeeAnn Rhimes has a nice voice and a perky personality, but some of us still crave the maturity only a full-grown singer/songwriter can inject into music.

Enter Jill Holly.

Her voice resonates with power and emotion, from the first note of “Calling All Angels,” the first and title track on this refreshing CD. In her music, I hear echoes of everyone from Joan Baez to Shania Twain. “Common Ground” and “Louise” harken back to the 60’s, when JOan Baez and Bob Dylan enlightened us about the human condition through their music.

But just when you think the album’s floating into that cerebral gray area, Holly brings it back to Earth with the funky “Heart On The Line.” The gorgeous “If Ever There’s A Doubt” give the album it’s requisite love ballad. The song showcases the best of Jill Holly-that voice, that gift for melody, those grown-up lyrics that no teen queen could deliver honestly.

Let us give thanks for Jill Holly, and all the other adult singer/songwriters out there who remind us why we love music.

Her songs will captivate, her stories intrigue, her voice & musicianship will leave you inspired. She's touched audiences from Japan, Finland, Belgium, Costa Rica, Alaska, Sweden, on her many world tours. She's entertained at the Kentucky Derby Festival, worked with A-list players such as Shawn Mullins, Bonnie Raitt, had songs in film and television and much, much more. Jill Holly is a regular on Twincitiesradio.net and Women of Substance radio. A consummate professional whether on the guitar, behind the piano, as a vocalist, songwriter and as herself, a great performer. The Hollywood Reporter- "I only heard the last 2 songs of her set and after hearing Jill Holly, I'll never miss an opening act again. I was blown away."

Jill's former 300 date touring calendar came to a halt when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006. Finally back on the road with her new CD, Feel The Rain, her voice has never been stronger. Her songs, never so poignant. Her performance...you can hear pins drop as each audience member clings to every word and each note. She'll leave you laughing, crying, completely engaged, and making you so glad you were there!
While living in LA in the 90's, Jill could have had a mainstream career but chose to keep it simple and tour in a way that she could enjoy the fans and the planet up close and personal. What stories she has to tell!
