Bio

"Unafraid of wearing her heart on her sleeve and going for those big dramatic moments in a way that we haven’t seen since BELLA DONNA-era STEVIE NICKS..." -Brian Lush/Rockwired.com

A new decade brings new beginnings. And well over a decade ago, Jillian Riscoe stepped on stage and hasn't stepped off since. No stranger to the sounds, the lights, the pursuit of a dream turning reality, Jillian began recording only at the age of 10, songwriting at age 11.

Performing all over various venues from piano recitals to local TV broadcasts throughout elementary and middle school, Jillian became well versed with the stage, the song, and of course, those who listened. In one summer, at the age of 15, she took on the national anthem 5 times for the Kansas City Royals (with a crowd of 25,000 that night,) Wizards, T-Bones and American Royal. Throughout her 4 years of high school, she recorded, constantly wrote, and of course, performed. Arbonne hosted a special "Power of the Dream" event where Jillian co-wrote a song for and performed at; was featured in a 3 page interview and spread in the young adult publication, Array Magazine with a follow up in the next issue and was chosen as an Fox 4 Young Achiever of the Week for the Reaching for Excellence segment by senior anchor, Phil Witt. Jillian has been featured on the FOX station several more times since 2008. Jillian was also a guest and performer for the Kansas City late night televised talk show, After Hours, which was hosted by Darron Story and Cara Kahn. Jillian also found Kansas City based jewelry designer, Deanna Burasco and formed a line of music based jewelry with Deanna Burasco Designs in 2008.

After visiting Los Angeles for the ASCAP "I Create Music" Expo (Jillian is an active ASCAP member, writer and publisher,) and graduating high school, Jesse Atwell of Zero Age Media reached out to Jillian. "Jillian has a bright future ahead of her. I'm very excited to be working with someone that has the winning combination of talent, ambition and diligence." Thinking about what's next, like any 18 year old would, Jesse suggested talks of an all new, all original album with one specific producer in mind. David Percefull. Working with artists such as David Cook, Bowling for Soup, The Nixons and countless others. Jillian and Dave began collaborating on the new album, in late 2008 and began recording in 2009 at LA Audio in Olathe, KS and finished at yellowDOGstudios in Austin, Texas. "David is great to work with. He is an amazing musician, producer and collaborator! I like to take my spin on the term 'dark romanticism with my songs in the sense that what I'm writing and singing about is powerful, expressive and charming." The result=Eleven:Eleven. The first single "Stuck" was released in May of 2009 on iTunes, followed by the release of the album that October to regional Best Buy stores, Streetside Records and iTunes.

Here and now, in 2010, right after releasing the solo effort, Eleven: Eleven, Jillian Riscoe & The 21st Century was formed. "It's a brand new decade, with new endeavors and the effort to really show the world what I have to offer musically and forming a band was the most rock and roll thing to do I decided," says Jillian. Not even a few months into the year and Jillian had already found musicians for the new band, Trace Follett on lead guitar and Kris Venard on drums; an endorsement from Daisy Rock Guitars, an acoustic tour in Borders Books and Music stores, Best Buy stores and Streetside Records store; 25 dates; covering 6 Midwest states sponsored by Daisy Rock Guitars; a performance on an CBS (Wichita) and an FOX (St. Louis) morning show; and gaining press while on tour and is continually performing, writing and promoting her music. Already 10 years into the 21st century, a new decade of rock and roll is formed.

Unafraid... Heart on her sleeve... Music composed captivating every emotion... A story that has a past, present and most of all, a future. Now write yourself in this story to see what's next...

"You can come across immense talent by accident . . . her name? Jillian Riscoe." - Bruce Von Stiers, BVSreviews.com
