BandChristianCountry

I am a singer/songwriter who shares from the heart. My music and lyrics are real and are meant to touch people's hearts. I perform mainly Christian and country originals, but I throw in a cover now and then too. One of my strengths is my ability to connect with my audiences.

Biography

I have been singing my entire life, and I was recently thrilled to open for the legendary Loretta Lynn. I have also performed with NewSong and Brian Littrell. I am a songwriter, and I go to Nashville almost every month to improve my craft and to network. I do a solo show with my sister that is an acoustic style show, with me on guitar and some background tracks. These are mainly Christian shows. I also have a secular band called "Girlfriend" that has three girls as the main singers, so we have incredible three-part harmony. We also have an awesome band backing us up with some of the best players in our area. I have been compared vocally to Amy Grant, Shania Twain and Allison Krauss, who have been influences in my music. The thing that sets us apart from other bands is our vocals. We have three girls up front singing perfect harmonies, and our voices blend very well. We have all been performing for a long time, so we are comfortable on stage and able to engage our audiences and have a blast!

Wherever You Are

Wherever You Are

Words and Music by Jill Miller © 2007

I know you're in there somewhere but right now you're hard to find

I wish I could unlock the chains that have taken hold of your mind

Time has taken the spark from your eyes

Memories stolen in the night

Wherever you are, even when life takes us these worlds apart

Wherever you are I will find you right here in my heart

And I will love you wherever you are

I dream about the man I met that summer long ago

With just one kiss my life was changed and my heart found its home

What I wouldn't give for just one more day

With you here, not so far away

Wherever you are, even when life takes us these worlds apart

Wherever you are I will find you right here in my heart

And I will love you wherever you are

Sometimes I wanna scream, this life's not fair

Where's those Golden years we were gonna share

But my love for you keeps me strong

And it keeps me hanging on, and I'm still hanging on

Wherever you are, even when life takes us these worlds apart

Wherever you are I will find you right here in my heart

And I will love you, I've always loved you, I will love you wherever you are

You Still Love Me

You Still Love Me

Verse 1:
Every burden that I bear, every scar that I still wear
You know my hidden secrets
You know my past but you keep me close, and you still love me

Verse 2:
Every time I’ve lost my faith, miss a sign and lose my way
You’ve been my rescue waiting
You’ve been my light never fading

Chorus:
Never gonna leave, never gonna say it’s over
Always by my side, even in the dark of night when I can’t see
I know you’re there and you still love me

Verse 3:
I’m just a tiny grain of sand, somehow you know just where I am
You’ve been my rescue waiting
You’ve been my light never fading

Chorus:
Never gonna leave, never gonna say it’s over
Always by my side, even in the dark of night when I can’t see
I know you’re there and you still love me
You still love me

Sit With Me Awhile

Sit With Me Awhile
Words and Music by Jill Miller ©2008

Hello, Mr. Moonlight, sit with me awhile
Tell me all the secrets hidden in your smile
I see you every night and I've wished upon your stars
You sent my baby right here to my heart
Sit with me awhile

Hello, Mr. Sunshine, sit with me awhile
Tell me all about yourself 'cuz I really like your style
You're so big and warm and I love the way you shine
You make every day so fine
Sit with me awhile

Love, sweet love has lifted me up here in these clouds
And I don't ever wanna come down

Hello, Mr. Bluebird, sit with me awhile
Tell me all about your song 'cuz it sounds so free and wild
Is it really happiness that makes you sing all day
Ain't it crazy how love gets you that way
Sit with me awhile, awhile
Sit with me, just sit with me, sit with me awhile
Sit with me, just sit with me, sit with me awhile

She's On You Like A Shadow

She’s On You Like A Shadow
Words and music by Barbara Baker and Jill Miller ©2009

Our love is fading, going down with the sun
The spell is breaking, we're about to come undone

There's a presence, I can feel it on my skin
No more pretending she's not here with us again

She's on you like a shadow, she's on you like a shadow
She's on you like a shadow and she's the reason I will go

My heart is breaking, guess I kissed you too soon
I won't keep waiting while she's still haunting you

There's no denying it's time for me to leave
Step out on my own, far from your memories

She's on you like a shadow, she's on you like a shadow
She's on you like a shadow and she's the reason I will go

Don't look at me like you're surprised
All I see is her face in your eyes
Her memory's dancing over you
There is nothing left for me to do

She's on you like a shadow, she's on you like a shadow
She's on you like a shadow and she's the reason I will go

Menopause Blues

Written By: Jill Miller

Every day I wake up to a brand new me
As my body keeps surrendering to gravity
Cellulite growing in the strangest places
It's getting real hard to be bodacious

Another pair of jeans for the don't fit pile
My sweats are getting more and more versatile
Cuz I can dress em up, I can dress em down
They feel real good and my waist ain't bound
Girl, bring over the wine, it's blues-busting time

Let's raise a glass or two
It's the least we can do
It's the only way through
These menopause blues, these menopause blues

I can't believe the things that come out of my mouth
I try to be nice but awful words spew out
I'd blame it on the devil but I know it's me
Am I slowly losing my sanity

Hot flashes, Lord, leave me soaking wet
So give me Estrogen or give me death
I think I'd die for a full night's sleep
I'm heading down the hall before the plumbing leaks
So, Girl, bring over the wine, it's blues busting time

Let's raise a glass or two
It's the least we can do
It's the only way through
These menopause blues, these menopause blues

Tell me who put the men in menopause
Cuz they don't feel a thing as I recall
Bring you your wine, your martini, or your daiquiri
I don't care what kind of libation
Girl, I just really need a little conversatin

Raise a glass or two
It's the least we can do
It's the only way through
These menopause blues
Let's share a laugh or two
It's the least we can do
Together we'll get through
These menopause blues
These menopause blues
These menopause blues

Set List

For my Christian and solo shows I do mainly originals, with a cover or two thrown in as well. For my secular band, "Girlfriend," we do mainly covers, with a few of my country originals thrown in as well. Our sets are generally 45 minutes. Covers that the country band does include songs by Martina McBride, Gretchen Wilson, Shania Twain, and other country classics. We also do classic rock and roll such as Proud Mary, One Fine Day and Runaway. We throw in a couple of old trio songs by the Andrew and McQuire Sisters, such as Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and Sincerely. All in all, we do a great variety of music that appeals to all ages.
Here is a typical set list:
