Bad News Yesterday

Written By: Jim Anderson

Rah Rah Rah the ol' sis boom bah,
People fill the stands.
The Rally cry when the team scores high,
Cheerleading girlfriends.
The whole town out on a friday night,
Smiling faces shine.
"The Quarterback's my boy!"
One Mother likes to say with pride.
His Father sees him playing ball,
with the Crimson Tide.
The Quarterback's just thinking about his girl.

She got some bad news yesterday,
He can't even think about it,
How's he supposed to play?

A story unfolding on the field,
while the game is on.
They can't see what's in her eyes,
she acts like nothing's wrong.
Goosebumped skin and april eyes
are spreading through the stands,
A perfect moment shared by all,
They thank him with their hands,
He has no time for the glory,
He looked and she was gone.
A note found on his windshield made him cry.

It said "remember me the way I am,
Young and free and beautiful,
Do you understand?"
But he didn't understand.

He never bargained for this,
And he never found the answers.
He wanted one last kiss,
but she never said goodbuy.
So he looked to the sky,
and begged him for salvation.
Then he fell to his knees,
and it only made him cry.

She got some bad news yesterday,
He can't even think about it.
How's he supposed to play?
How's he supposed to play?
His baby has gone away.

I Lived a Year There in a Day

Written By: Jim Anderson

Another year goes by
Another road I didn't take
I don't know what I saw,
saw inside her eyes
But I lived a year there in a day.

Someone's heart will sigh,
Another heart will break,
I don't know what I saw,
saw inside her eyes
But I lived a year there in a day.

You're not so lost
so look to someone else,
look to someone else
it's not so wrong
to trust in someone else,
trust in someone else.

Another year goes by
Another heart will break,
I don't know what I saw,
saw inside her eyes
But I lived a year there in a day.
