"Jim Anthony: Good To Be Me"

Jim Anthony's latest album, 'Good To Be Me', is a proof that there are great country singers who don't have major record deals and Country Music Awards. Jim's new project offers 10 songs of substance and good old fashioned honesty.

The title track to the album, "Good To Be Me", is all about feeling good that you've found that special someone who makes your life complete. A song that is dedicated to his wife and kids, you can hear Jim's sincerity in the vocal delivery. The music and songwriting are awesome and the thing I liked the most about the song is that I could relate to it, because this is how I feel when I look at my wife and little ones. Great song!

Another great song on Jim's album is "Scarred Up History". This is a great song about being okay with a not so perfect history and learning to appreciate those tough times when you're broke and downtrodden. The music is perfect for the song too, and so many times I hear from other independent country artists who don'tseem to grasp the fact that the music should match the feel of the song. This is another one of Jim's tunes that is easy to relate to. I think anybody who has been alive long enough to understand how tough life can be sometimes, will understand what Jim's talking about.

Overall, Jim Anthony's album is worth giving a listen. If you like his music, buy it and help keep good music circulating.

"Jim Anthony: Good To Be Me"

With charmingly self-incriminating lyrics and a melodic country sound, Jim Anthony has a cool Phil Vassar meets Josh Gracin sound that deserves a spot on the country music charts. Indeed, this southern Minnesota country boy offers ten heartfelt (and sometimes rockin') songs on his new album "Good To Be Me."

Anthony begins the album with the radio-ready "Harding Avenue" with a powerful melody and an intense vocal performance. With more than fifteen years in the music business, Jim Anthony is a man overstuffed with talent and five albums to prove it.

The Texas country anthem "With You" shows the more sensitive side of Jim Anthony, but it is the title track that steals the show. The cut begins at a slow pace and builds to a rousing crescendo that oozes authenticity.

"Blue Skies" is a Wade Bowen-esque song that fires on all cylinders, and "Like No One Ever Has" reinforces Anthony's reputation as a musical storyteller. "Scarred Up History" is a personal country rock anthem that is appropriately followed by the final track "Time Heals."

Jim Anthony has created a terrific album with "Good To Be Me". In fact, any one of the first three songs on the album could be a Number One album on the Texas country chart and all three should be considered on mainstream country and Red Dirt radio playlists. There's nothing precocious or audacious about Jim Anthony, and that's part of the charm of this gifted artist. - Country Chart Magazine

"Jim Anthony: Good To Be Me"

Singer/songwriter, Jim Anthony has recently finished recording his latest album, Good To Be Me. Coming from Albert Lea, Minnesota, Jim Anthony sings songs for the middle of America. Anthony, along with AJ Clark and Cleve Clark, co-wrote this entire album.

Some of the standout songs are “Blue Skies,” “Good To Be Me,” and “Time Heals.” “Blue Skies” really captures the essence of Jim Anthony’s sound. The gritty, acoustic-driven song feels really good and his vocal is unbelievably relatable. The chorus is extremely hooky and the positive lyric is easy to sing along with. “Lucky Like That” is another song that encompasses the feel-good, positive groove that makes you want to tap your foot.

Anthony has really tapped into a college-type of music that is going to appeal to everyone. His soulful voice is identifiable and he sings about issues that everyone can relate to. Keep an eye out for Jim Anthony – he could be a force to be reckoned with in several different musical formats. - Power Source Music Magazine
