Hey Jim. I really enjoyed your CD on many levels. One of the first things that struck me (and I've listened quite a few times by now), was the diversity of musical expression. The musicianship is outstanding and contributes greatly to the diversity of emotional and intellectual content. You have an incredibly soulful voice, it is the most unique and resonant tone I've heard since Tim and Jeff Buckley. I am also impressed with the high production standards, everything was very well put together. It's an impressive piece of work. I hear a lot of sophisticated pop -- strong vocals, smart arrangements -- mixed with world-music, funk and R&B influences, something along the lines of what Sting, Paul Simon and maybe Peter Gabriel have done. I heard things that reminded me of Sting, of Vinx (of course, he's on this disk), Prefab Sprout (the first track), Prince, the Neville Brothers and some African artists.
