Currently Jim is performing solo acoustic and with a gtr/bass/drums trio "JB + Band." As Jim notes "playing with a band gives a great sound and is super fun, but for delivering a story and the attending strong emotions, solo acoustic is the best format. That is why I like to do a variety of gig-types."

International travel has really helped Jim understand the human condition in all its glory - China, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Guatemala, Salvador, Belize, Mexico, Canada, England.

Noted for his clear yet quirky story-telling and strong, rocking, hooky musical style, Jim provides a new and unique take on modern rock and folk music. Fellow songwriters have commented on his vivid style, noting that his music and sound come "out of left field" - really unexpected, really great.

Dino's Revenge

Written By: Jim Bradford (and Andy Gaydos)

Dino’s Revenge

Several million years ago
A dinosaur died
Then was crushed with heavy rocks
in to a slippery oily tide

Many years later
A sharp object poked his brain
and the dinosaur was sucked up
And refined into premium grade

And a good man was so happy
That he had a fine vehicle to drive
As he drove around blissfully
And destroyed the sky

The car was good for business
And reducing daily chore
And so they manufactured them
By the score

You Know I had to buy one
So that I could get some chicks
Fortunately the gas was cheap
Because they found lots of slicks

O yeah drive it up drive it down

The oil was so valuable now
Because everybody drove
So they started to covet it
and a terrible war arose

The marchers were so angry
And so they filled their cars with signs
And they drove right down to the center of town
And accused themselves of crimes

O yeah drive it up drive it down

Corporation feed the madness
Major arteries were laid
Children were sent off to war
And big profits were made

When gridlock sets in big time
Could that really be the end?
Better hop into our cars today
and drive to worlds end

O yeah drive it up drive it down
O yeah drive it up drive it down
O yeah drive it up drive it down

Free

Written By: Jim Bradford

Too much diet coke, alcohol, TV, nicotine, __
Then there is global warming, terrorism, job stress, anxiety
Gravity is pulling, sun's rays are burning, terminal disease
Sometimes I feel like the material world is out to get me

Thats' why I say, The only thing that can be completely free
Is a thought or a mood or maybe an ET
In a world beyond 3-D
A place outside of time, or X, Y and Z

I want to be Free
Free, to live in my dreams
Its time to find the time
To get the things I need

Yep, the material world is killing me
That's why I want to bend reality
(So I want to live, go, dream)
The material world conceals the truth you see
So, I want to go to where I can be free

Don't you want to be Free
Free, to be in in your dreams
Free to find the time
To get the things you need

If we could fly to anywhere in the galaxy
See what we can't see to - move with infinite speed
Plan the future, correct history
Then would we be, be, be?
Would we be free?

Don't we want to be Free
Free, to be in our dreams
Free to find the time
To get the things we need

Near Miss

Written By: Jim Bradford

Some times I feel like you don't love me anymore
Like when you come home late every night
First thing in the morning you have some where to go
I call down stairs to see if you are alright

Do you remember the beauty of our lighting filled skies?
How hard we laughed and cried
Recall the heights we soared and the depths of our dispair
It's surely been a wild ride

When we were young
We were in love
and we lived the dream
Dreamers only dream of
Let's get it together like we used to do
And we can live the dream dreamers only dream of

You say you are leaving and that's the end of it
You've had enough, you are sure I'll survive
You have your reasons, I have my alibies
But this move tear apart our lives

When we were new
We had a knack
For reaching highs
And not coming back
So let's get it together like we used to do
And we'll live the dream dreamers only dream of

Okay, you say you'll give it one more chance
You will stay, and try to make it right
I know the good in you is as big as the sky
I will never regret this day

When we were young
We were in love
and we lived the dream
Dreamers only Dream of
Let's get it together it will be alright
And we can live the dream dreamers only dream of
And we can live the dream dreamers only dream of
And we can live the dream dreamers only dream of

Leprechaun

Written By: Jim Bradford

This song is dedicated to my friend Dean Lutz. AKA Patient Zero.
Leprechaun

I went to do some business
In the City by the Bay
But I must have gotten turned around
And touched down in Ireland way

I met an orange haired minstrel there
And he sang wit h a dirty mouth
but truth was spoken in his songs
I turned my life around

Oh the Leprechauns and skalawags
Were dancing in my head
Oh the Leprechauns and skalawags
Had I been misled?

We drank up all the whiskey
We drank up all the wine
We drank to Irish struggles
And the dead it left behind

We danced a jig for hours
In a spell I slipped away
The room spun 'round; I hit the ground
as the night turned into day

Oh the Leprechauns and skalawags
Were dancing in my head
Oh the Leprechauns and skalawags
Is life just what he said?

Who wouldn't live in a shanty
In a story by the sea
With shamrocks floating in the head
and a heart full of glee

Chasing pots of gold
or a sweet Irish lass
The highest of the people
Are within the lowest class

Oh the Leprechauns and skalawags
Were dancing in my head
Oh the Leprechauns and skalawags
Was all before naysaid?

I moved down by the ocean
In the city by the Bay
I'm chasing April rainbows
To this blessed day

If I live to be an old man
There is nothing I shall see
As enchanting as a single night
With crazy Sean McKey
Oh the Leprechauns and skalawags
Were dancing in my head
Oh the Leprechauns and skalawags
My old life is dead

Drought

Written By: Jim Bradford

7 years of little rain
makes you wonder if it will ever rain again
If some clouds don't come and cool things down
Theis whole region
will come tumbling down

Without the rain rain rain

It seems like the climate has changed
The rivers are low, the sun burns the plains
warm water, fish kill south of town
The flies in the stench make a
weird buzzing sound

So let it rain, rain, rain

Hay, 200 a ton
If you can get them to sell you some
The ground lies fallow
and the subsidies come
No way to finish
what a man's begun

So pray for rain, rain, rain
Let it rain, rain, rain

500 mile wide acrid swatch
of burned evergreens and settling ash
feels like Hell or kingdom come
The earth begs for mercy
From a stoking, raging, sun

So let it rain, rain, rain

Stiffen you lip, cause there is nothing to say
We were worried about mars, feels more like mercury
Will everything die, because there is nothing to eat?

Pray for rain, rain rain

It's going to rain again
So keep your faith
Cause it will and then
It will go back
to the way we used to be
The freezing winters
The muddy springs

And the rain, rain, rain.
Pray for rain
Let it rain

Backwoods Boy

Written By: Jim Bradford

Up in mountains
In your neck of the woods
It’s a rare thing to find beauty
From Hollywood

She's lost and you save her
And she decides to own ya
And you follow her down
To Southern California

Back woods boy
Didn't they warn ya
What would you do
With a girl from Sunny California?

In LA the roads are too big
And the air is spooky
And she rolls her eyes at you
Nick names you Goofy

Your love letters
Make clever conversation
Among the girls
With negative connotation

Back woods boy
I got to warn you
What would you do
With a girl from Sunny California?

Come home sweetheart
Mama implores ya
On the telephone
From Koocanusa

Pack your bags
Get them on the Greyhound
With your tail between your legs
You are homebound

A couple years later
From your double wide trailer
You see her on the TV
And grab your inhaler

In a moment of clarity
You finally see
The difference between
What dreams and reality

Back woods boy
I gotta warn ya
What would you do
With a girl from Sunny California?

One Punch Fight

Written By: Jim Bradford

She didn't say much
There was no goodbye
She closed the door
I was out of her life

Love came on slow
Like a swelling eye
Till she took me down
In a one punch fight

She had "friends"
She was not shy
She made the rounds
With all of the guys

She was hot and slow
By the bar room light
But she was kind to me
and her touch was light

She was natural
She was not shy
When she came at me
With with that look in her eye

It was enthralled
My love was high
So I took my turn
My shot at the prize

For several months we loved day and night
I was so amazed that she was with me
I loved her so much I could fly
My life had meaning for the first time

We drove my black lincoln
To the carvinal show
We partied down
I took a dose

She slipped away
With another guy
and I went down fast
In a One Punch Fight

---------------
I don't know why
She wouldn't say
She took my love
And threw it away

I took my turn
My shot at the prize
I took my turn
And paid the price

I woke up
With an aching head
Couldn't hide my pain
With the words I said

She was gone
Like the dark of night
And I’m still wearing scars
From a One Punch Fight

Weena

Figure out theme. Send email note to enter drawing for free CD of Redraw the Line.
I got me a machine
Its run with those buttons and levers
Right there

Climb
Right on board
Tell it when and
It will take you there

She is beautiful
But she is way way way
Ahead of my time

She is future girl
She may be
She might be mine

Her name is Weena
She builds a fire for me
She may be future girl
But I guess
We will just have
To wait and see

I got a long long way to go
Maybe 50,000 years
Maybe more, more more

How
Am I gonna get that far?
I don't know
I guess you never know

Lucky for Weena
I got me a time machine
Gonna go and get her now
And skip all that
In between

Regret

Written By: Jim Bradford

I remember the year
the very day
I remember the minute
and the second
You drove away

We we were young and happy
You were a good friend of mine
I wasn't paying attention
Or had something else on my mind

Regret, regrets
I ain't gotten over them yet
My otherwise fine life
Is tainted by Regret

You gave me your body
It cost you your
And the man that really loved you
'Cause we both lacked self control
Could your true love have saved you?
But you broke up - unhappily
A matter of life and death to you
Inconsequential to me
Regret, regrets
I ain't gotten over them yet
My otherwise fine life
Is tainted by Regret

I heard that you died in NYC
In an alcoholic haze
The details remain sketchy
I'll never get the whole story anyway

Before that the years flew bye
But you often crossed my mind
I figured there would be a day
We would catch up the time
If I would have given more
Would you still be here today?
Just goes to show you
How time can slip away
Regret, regrets
Like when I smoked my first cigarette
My otherwise fine life
Is tainted by Regret

Regret, regret
I ain't gotten over you yet
My otherwise fine life
Is tainted by Regret

Ol' 80

Written By: Jim Bradford

This song is dedicated to my late great uncle Adolph Eggen
Old 80

Old Eighty
Came from the old country
Old 80, well
He got drunk every day
It was 1933
But he reminds me of me
I want to get together with him
In the old, in the old Country

Playing his music
Sleeping with the indians
Townsfolk said “that ain't no way to be”
But you were a friend of mine
You were a friend to me
And I want to get together with you
In the old, in the old Country

Give it to me
Make it an old one
Gimme that old Clementine

And let it shine
Over model T’s and wheat fields
Old Adolph
Could have been Should have been

Long time ago
My mother told me
That he went down the hi-line
Making people happy

Adolph
You are way out in front of me
I want to get together with you
In the old in the old Country

Gimme that
Make it an old one
Gimme that
Ukulele
