Put The Blame On Me

Written By: James Corrao

PUT THE BLAME ON ME

You say that you’re lonely, that I treat you unfair.
You think of me only, though I’m here on a dare.
Well I see that you’re cryin’, but it’s all in the game, you see, Louise.
And if it makes you feel better, go ahead and put the blame on me.

You say that I told you that we’d be such a pair
now only to show you that I really don’t care.
Well, I know you been tryin’, but it’s always the same to me, Marie.
And if I’m guilty some of lyin’, go ahead and put the blame on me.

Chorus:
Well I’ve thought of you lately, and how easy it would be to stay, Renee’.
But I’m in it so greatly that I’ll really have to slip away today.

The trouble I brought you hasn’t cost you a dime.
But double the ante and I’ll tell you you’re mine.
You can say I’m a loser, but at least I’m in the game, you see, May Lee (or Mi-Lee).
So chalk one up to bad luck, and go ahead and put the blame on me.

-- Instrumental break --

Chorus:
Well I’ve thought of you lately, and how easy it would be to stay, Desiree’
But I’m in it so greatly that I’ll really have to slip away today.

You say that you’re lonely, that I treat you unfair.
You think of me only, though I’m here on a dare.
Well I see you been cryin’, but it’s always the same to me, Sheri’.
And if it makes you feel better, go ahead and put the blame …
If it makes you feel better, go ahead and put the blame …
If it makes you feel better, go ahead and put the blame on me.

The Land of Sahlee

Written By: James Corrao

The Land of Sahlee

Love may grow in the fields in the land of Sahlee.
Who may know of such dreams so dear to me?
As I gaze to the sea from the land of Sahlee,
colors fade and in the sky he smiles to me.

Winter snows coat the hills in the land of Sahlee
In slumber still he remained to await the dawn.
Rivers flow to resolve in the land of Sahlee.
May you know of their ways before you’re gone.

Distant drums called the strong from the land of Sahlee.
Echoes ring of the storms they’re called to meet.
If he comes back to me in the land of Sahlee
I’ll be praying that his heart still beats for me.

Rhymes do well to describe the land of Sahlee.
No better place could be found for us to be.
Time will tell if he’ll be in the land of Sahlee.
Many letters with no reply come back to me.

Love may grow in the fields in the land of Sahlee.
Who may know of such dreams so dear to me?

Jocelyn

Written By: Jim Corrao

JOCELYN

Over and over and over again, I will tell her I love, my dear Jocelyn. Better and better and better I’ll be just to know my dear Jo’s here with me.

Sadder and sadder and sadder I’d been ‘fore the days that I knew her, my dear Jocelyn. Brighter and brighter and brighter’s each day, ever blessed my dear Jo’s here to stay.

CHORUS:
And now ev’ry day is a better day, whether rain or shine I know she’s mine. What more can I say that won’t get in the way when I’m caught up dreaming.

Wake me and shake me if ever I miss just a word she is saying, her smile, or her kiss. Ever and ever and ever again I will love her, my sweet Jocelyn.

CHORUS:
And now ev’ry day is a better day, whether rain or shine or snow she’s mine. What more can I say that won’t get in the way when I’m caught up dreaming.

Higher and higher and higher I go. When I look to the heavens I’m sure to see Jo. Better and better and better I be just to know my dear Jo’s here with me …

knowing Jocelyn Jean is with me.
