Jimi Can - 'Seku Bari' EP

5 track EP of my latest material recorded at Modern World Studios (UK) produced by Tony Briscoe (Craig David, Beverly Knight) and featuring some of the best musicians in the Bristol scene.

#acampadaBristol Tribute CD

19 track CD with songs from my last few years' projects, including Jimi Can, El Pato Band (previous band I leaded) & Midnimo One (I produced and performed together with young & old people from the area of St Pauls in Bristol. Some of the young people, from many different cultural backgrounds were into street life, drug dealing etc, thus the project aimed to interact and broad everyone's views & experiences and break musical and social barriers) .

Bio

I was born in a quite musical/artistic family in Cantabria, northern Spain. My mum's family came from Cuba, and from early age had contact with people from Caribbean and West Africa. Age 19 I moved to London, UK to study Music Management & Production, kept writing (which had started at 15) and when arrived to Bristol in 2004 started El Pato Band www.myspace.com/elpatoband we formed at the jams we hosted weekly at a Jamaican pub.
The area of Bristol where I live has many influences from Jamaicans, Africans and obviously the Bristol vibe. My music reflects that because that's also what I like.
I like reggae/dancehall, flamenco, Spanish & Cuban rumba, West African music and more.. My main influences would be Bob Dylan, Manu Chao, Bob Marley, Cheikh Lo, Ali Farka Toure, Sekouba Traore, Katapulto & Camaron, to name a few.
