""All Lines Crossed" Press Release"

With the release of the "All Lines Crossed" album, Jimil-Anne brings a new feel to a classic genre. Lush with addicting piano progressions, dream-like vocals, and plenty of pop undertones, the record boasts the aesthetic of piano pop anthems. Though the songs are diverse from one another, there is a glue that holds it all together much like a concept album would. Most importantly, the record never loses sight of the emotional platform great songs are built from.

The first single, “Colors” is a fun, indie pop classic. Complete with an upswing rhythm, a catchy chorus, and swelling vocal hooks, the song seems to breathe and build as it plays on.

“Well, the chorus goes, ‘You'll see colors for the first time...’ The colors represent a sort of freedom you would find from falling in love all over again. When I wrote the song, I was ending a broken marriage and starting a new relationship that I delved head-first into. I learned a lot about myself during that period-- and it felt like I had been seeing the world in drab, black and white for the longest of time until I met this particular someone. The theme of the song is taking chances-- such as, taking a chance on something scary and new, but finding a sense of freedom and enlightenment when you take that next step” explains the songwriter of her single.

Although the single does speak volumes for the album, to get a real understanding of where Jimil-Anne is coming from, the record should be heard in its entirety. Songs range from inspirational pop songs, to beautiful piano ballads.

“I have to disclose that my album is very honest. I spent a lot of time hiding my music and my voice from the world because I was afraid of criticism. But to be frank, I stopped caring over time and just kept moving forward. In today's world, there's a lot of lying going on. Society seems to think that if we put on this persona of perfection that it defines the strength of our character. However, I think the most virtuous traits I've ever seen from anyone are their candor and their willingness to be vulnerable. This album was about me stepping outside of my comfort zone; and the whole process has been this crazy journey of self-exploration.” says Jimil-Anne of the album and songwriting process.

Coming from a heavy musical background, Jimil-Anne started playing clarinet at only 8 years old and soon after began to teach herself piano. Writing songs by the time she was 16, things came naturally to her. After joining the Navy in 2002, the songwriter stopped playing and writing for years. It wasn’t until later she was diagnosed with PTSD and left the Navy in 2011 that she slowly began to write again.

Taking a break from a professional music career, Jimil-Anne became a nurse for a couple of years during which time she found herself writing songs more prolifically. It was 2015 when she decided to relocate to Lompoc CA and focus on recording her debut album. Going through other life-changing experiences inspired her to write enough songs for a full length record, and she went for it.

The songwriter is now a registered nurse and balances that with her music career. The All Lines Crossed album is the epitome of where she is at with her sound now.

The album will be available for streaming and downloads on most major digital outlets on April 8th along with physical CD's available on Bandcamp. Jimil-Anne is always working on new material for upcoming releases as she keeps her goal of putting together a live band for performances. - Radio Ready Press

Bio

Jimil-Anne is a singer-songwriter from Lompoc, CA-- her music is stylistically simple. Most of her songs are influenced by well-known contemporary artists of various decades ranging from the 50's till now.  Some of her influences include The Carpenters, Sarah Slean, Missy Higgins, Jewel, James Blunt, Adele, Dido, and Imogen Heap-- to name a few.  When she writes her music, she utilizes simple chords on the piano, but is heavily-focused on the meaning of her lyrics.  Each song has a personal story behind it.  Her emotions are expressed in her lyrics and the way she sings, with a plethora of emotions ranging from painfully depressed to pure elation.

Jimil-Anne's debut album, All Lines Crossed (2017), is a very candid album that describes her emotional journey of her leaving her marriage, going through a tumultuous relationship, and returning back to her marriage with forgiveness and a profound sense of perspective.  During the song-writing process, Jimil-Anne was trying to find her "sound", and so she experimented with different musical styles such as Rock, Motown, and Electronic Music.  While she ventured into these different genres of music, she continued to maintain a sense of simplicity and acoustic presence throughout the album.
