Jim Kahr is an important part of the Chicago blues scene of the early seventies. First gaining prominence with his own band, 'Slamhammer', he was, (really!) , the -first- blues act to ever play Chicago's famous 'Kingston Mines',(which was a venue for plays up until then),c.'71. He went on to play with many blues greats, among them Bobby 'Blue' Bland, and is still remembered by many who attended the famous BB King/Bobby Bland concerts of the 70's,(if only as, "Who was that great guitarist with Bland?"). Unfortunately , his records don't receive much promotion; a loss for us all. - Amazon reviewer
