Hammond Organ USA Endorsed Gospel Jazz Artist Jimmie Smith featured this week at NAMM Convention in Anaheim, CA
Nashville, TN – Nashville’s own Jimmie Smith will be featured this week at the infamous National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), commonly called the NAMM convention that promotes the pleasures and benefits of making music and strengthens the $17 billion global music products industry. NAMM’s association—and trade shows—serve as a hub for people wanting to seek out the newest innovations in musical products, recording technology, and much more. Hammond Organ, USA and many others are scheduled to host activities and programs are designed to promote music making to people of all ages.
The Hammond Organ Performance at 2013 NAMM features the following legendary artists: Dr. Lonnie Smith – Hammond jazz and funk legend Larry Goldings – keyboard/organist, Santana Michel Benebig – international Jazz artist; Jimmie Smith – Gospel Jazz Artist; artist Anthony Williams (Dr. Bobby Jones gospel) Jon Hammond – Jazz artist Glenn Stewart – and Jazz artist Brendan Power. This event will take place tonight at 8pm at the Hilton adjacent to the Anaheim convention center, the Show will run from 8 to 10 PM.

This is one of the greatest honors for me not only to be endorsed by Hammond by to be included in what will be the Showstoppers this weekend on Friday night and the music industry is buzzing with excitement about it," Smith says. Jimmie Smith is quickly becoming recognized as one of the most sought-out creative arranger and dynamic instrumentalist in the Gospel Jazz genre and has indeed become the genre’s next Gospel Jazz artist to watch!
Smith has been blessed with an incredible start of 2013. Smith has been nominated for Best Gospel Jazz Instrumentalist for the 2013 PrayzeGospel Fest People Choice Awards that will be held in Birmingham, Ala April, 25-27, 2013. The instrumental gospel/jazz genre is blessed with talent and a timbre that is generating attention nationwide. Jimmie Smith, native of Buffalo, NY, is a composer and songwriter that has created a new experience Sanctified Sound and is proving to be an example of multi-faceted gifting, diligence and persistence.
At an early age Jimmie exhibited a superior aptitude for music. In 1982 his sister received a keyboard as a gift and it was Jimmie who sat down at his sister’s sweet sixteen parties, and began to play immediately. That was only the beginning; Jimmie went on play at his father’s church and was introduced to the Hammond B-3 which became Jimmie’s first love and choice of keys. Jimmie has played various churches throughout the United States. Over the years Jimmie has accompanied several gospel artists Kim Burrell, Karen Clark-Sheard, Dorinda Clark-Cole, and COGIC international Music Department. Jimmie served on staff with the COGIC International Department for over seven years.
