Jimmie's white-hot vocals pay homage to the incredible music legacy paved by his cousins Ronnie (Lynyrd Skynyrd), Johnny (Johnny Van Zant Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Van Zant), and Donnie (.38 Special, Van Zant).
In late 2011, Jimmie signed a promotional partnership with MoonPie, a well-known American snack food company. The pairing came about with the production of two commercials featuring Jimmie Van Zant with the famous treat. Tory Johnston, VP of marketing for MoonPie says, "We're very excited to have Jimmie on board. We feel that the Van Zant name goes hand in hand with traditional values, and that's what we at MoonPie are all about."
Jimmie's New Album - Feels Like Freedom
On the new album, Feels Like Freedom, Jimmie assembled a top-notch, creative team of award winning writers and producers to continue his family's legacy. With an innovative, cross-over sound, recorded at Nashville's historical Sound Kitchen Studios, Jimmie continues to carry the torch of the Van Zant legacy with a new generation.
The album is generating a lot of buzz within the entertainment industry attracting participation from CD Baby, Sony/RED, Megaforce Records, MoonPie, DiscMakers, Super D, and CMT.
