Jimmy James

Jimmy James started started playing guitar in high school for fun taling after his father who had been playing bass since he was young. Though Chad(father) never forced music on Jimmy, he was born with a passion for creating and performing. After graduating Jimmy went to Tarleton State University where some friends convinced him to play an open mic at Bostocks Billards and Bar across the street from his dorm room in Stephenville Tx. Those Sunday night open mics paved the way for The Jimmy James Band forming in 2006 in Monahans Tx.
The band stayed together for a few years playing all over west Texas and venturing off all over texas and into Louisiana even.
In 2010 Jimmy crossed paths with Shea Abshier and Josh Aten forming a band called Symeon the Lion, after a cpl of years of chasing bars all over texas the three split ways and left music aside.
In 2014 after being in different areas of Texas the trio were brought back together by God to form a christian band called Saints and Vagabonds. The band went on to lead worship across the south western US as well as playing concerts, leading disciple nows and revivals. The band eventually broke up in 2016, and Shea formed the red dirt americana band Shea Abshier and the Nighthowlers.
Currently Jimmy and Josh Aten have a new band, HALLIE DRIVE with members Chance Williams, Brandon Wood, and Douglas Ebberman, all of Granbury Tx.
The bands debut EP is set to release later this spring.
You can aslo find Jimmy James playing with Kati Rhodes Music, playing lead and rythym in her full band as well as song swapping around the dfw together. Kati Rhodes also has her Debut EP being worked on currently.
While trying to balance all of this while working as well Jimmy James is also gearing up to release his first solo EP in 10 years !!! Lots of good times and emotional rollercoasters have come together and "it finally feels like ive found my voice and what I want to say with it" says Jimmy James.
