Beresford New Brunswick singer-songwriter Jimmy Hadley has performed across Canada and in the United States. He started his musical performances playing the harmonica at the age of 4 and was playing for audiences from that moment on. He was playing the guitar by the age of 10 and had developed an interest in singing at the same time. It was not long before he was thrilling audiences with his relaxed stage presence and unique charisma. This included playing harmonica and singing as a guest on CKBC Radio’s Saturday morning show.
His love of music spans across many genres from Rock & Roll to Country, and Café de Paris music. Jimmy has had the opportunity to perform to, and delight large audiences across Canada. In addition, he has performed for Broadway genre productions. Jimmy is presently working on his debut album, which will be ready for distribution summer-fall 2008. His debut album is a compilation of songs he has written and composed. You will enjoy from Rock a Billy to Rock & Roll, including beautiful ballads, which show his warm delivery of this style of music. “At Last” is the title album Jimmy Hadley is releasing. Music has been his lifetime passion and this has been a dream of his for a long time. At last, the elements to make it happen have all come together.
There are many people in this world who have followed long successful career paths but deep down in their soul, now and then, wonder “what if I had followed that dream of becoming a professional actor, race car driver, novelist or artist" and had spontaneously taken action on the many praises and advice of friends and strangers and pursued that gift to a higher level. Choice of career is often made from the rationalization that a steady income is crucial to provide for a comfortable family life. Jimmy is a member of a family that created history in Canada by having 5 brothers with successful careers with the RCMP. In addition, the 6th brother served as Sheriff and RCMP Auxiliary, and the one and only sister married a member of the RCMP. Therefore, Jimmy's career path was majorly influenced in that direction. After having served a total of 33 years in policing; 30 of these with the RCMP, which provided security for his family, Jimmy realized that the time had come for him to pursue his passion of music on a larger scale. His confidence in his talent as a musician, singer/song-writer and his determination to see this album completed is the result of all the encouragement, continuous praises and support from people who saw him perform and who told him through the years that he had talent and stage presence of a professional entertainer and music should have been his real career. These praises for his music were a constant testimonial from the people of all the communities across Canada where he lived as result of a mobile career.
He resisted acting on those comments as his career with the RCMP provided a great level of security and benefits for his family. Now that this need has been fulfilled, he is now on the journey of following through with a great music project put on hold for most of his life. Time doesn’t stop for anyone, however, it is never too late, and so, having just retired from a successful 33 years career in policing; he is ready to put his talents as musician, singer, and song-writer out there for the world to share. He is finally living that dream and dedicating some quality time on his singing, music and songwriting.
That dream was to someday, be able to record a first album. He wanted to record his own English and French compositions, the two languages he grew up with. The album contains several songs which have great potential to be hit singles.
With his retirement just around the corner, he set on a course of action in January 2008 and recruited his son Scott a talented drummer and back up vocalist, his wife Kim and close family friend, Ryan Luchuck also as back up vocalists. Ryan would also provide his talents as Bassist / Pianist. Jimmy would not have recorded this album without his wife Kim, son Scott and family friend Ryan Luchuck. With Scott residing in Regina Saskatchewan and Ryan in Toronto Ontario, it wasn’t easy to rehearse and prepare but it would be done no matter what. He arranged to have both Scott and Ryan fly in to Moncton NB on April 4th 2008. He had a short window of 3 days to record the whole album due to the limited amount of time these guys could provide but they arrived prepared with their home work done. Scott and Ryan had been rehearsing on their own for months and it all came together at the recording sessions. Passion for music, the excitement of finally recording those songs, team work and long days in studio paid off.
