JIMMY JAMES ARNOLD
Born in Dallas TX, pop-rock singer/songwriter/guitarist Jimmy James Arnold began his obsession with guitar and writing at age 10, the same year his family started moving all over Texas. By age 15 he was made aware by fellow pickers that as a lefthander, he had learned to play his right-handed guitar upside down and backwards (big string on the bottom). It was embarrasing that I learned so much stuff the wrong way. said Arnold grinning and shaking his head. Soon, at age 17, JJA discovered Rusty Burns of Point Blank. I saw a picture of him(Rusty) playing his guitar and I noticed his strings were backwards just like mine! recounted Arnold.
With his confidence restored, JJA then concentrated on playing music in Dallas through the early to mid-80s and before the end of the decade, JJA would end up in the only local blues band in KeyWest, FL to the Sunset Strip rock bands of Hollywood, CA. JJA kept writing songs the whole time. After landing a major tour gig in the fall of 94 with Hong Kongs #1 artist Faye Wong, JJA got to experience playing sold out arenas throughout Canada and the US as well as Massey Hall in Toronto. Getting to play Massey Hall in Toronto was special for me because the Dizzy Gillespie Live album was recorded there in 1953. said Arnold. Now with major tour and extensive club experience under his belt, as well as recording experience with other artists, JJA left Tulsa and went on to record and fill the guitarist/back-vocalist spot in the popular trio known as Rodeo Clown Dropouts led by stand-up bassist Jimmy Duvall in Dallas from 09 -12.
Now after years of commitment, hard work and side man due-paying, Jimmy James Arnold has wriitten, recorded and is singing his style of lead vocals with his own 5-song EP entitled JJA: INSIDE OUT featuring the single Hard 2Say Goodbye. Although currently unsigned, JJA is still passionate about his goal of being a recording artist for a major label. We want to fulfill the dream of the rock fans out there and they want great rock songs on the radio again; we have those songs for them~ JJA
