"Artist's Song Raises Cancer Awareness"

October 2007

Jimmy Peters, a local singer/songwriter has written a song and created a music video to raise awareness of breast cancer.

The song was inspired by a courageous breast cancer survivor, Jennifer Reeves, who celebrated four years of living cancer-free by appearing on the Tyra Banks television show on Oct 10.

"The title comes from Jenn's online alias 'Cancer A-- Kicking Jenn.' People have different sensibilities about expression and some resent the name. To me the amount of people who die from cancer is a lot more vulgar than mentioning a word that means someone's rear end, but everyone is different."

The video - which can be seen the web sites www.jimmypeters.com, www.boston.com and youtube.com - shows the song being recorded and also presents important facts about breast cancer.

The song has been selected out of hundreds of submissions for inclusion on the compiliation CD "Artists Against Cancer Volume I."

The song is also on the soon-to-be-released CD entitled, "Sky's The Limit." featuring 10 original songs. This CD was recorded at a studio owned by Rich Cronin - of LFO and Mission Man Band fame - Called Orange Freeze Records in Kingston.
