Jim Penfold has an impressive song-writing and performing history since his first gigs in the south of England with his band, the Hollywood Killers. He has been signed to a variety of companies including EMI Records, Dick James Music and Creole Records. Jim has worked with many producers, including Tony Visconti (David Bowie/T Rex), Mike Vernon (David Bowie/Fleetwood Mac), Mike Hurst (Cat Stevens), John Brand (Waterboys/Aztec Camera) and Kim Turner (Sting). Jim Penfold is a prolific song writer with a huge catalogue of tracks. The music has an original, distinctly British sound as in songs by the Beatles, Rolling Stones and Kinks. Recently Jim wrote and performed the theme song for Charley Boorman's seven part TV series 'Race to Dakar' which was shown world-wide. Jim has performed at 100's of gigs in the UK over the years with different line ups of the Hollywood Killers, including all the major London venues (The Embassy, the 100 Club, Marquee, Hammersmith Palais, The Lyceum etc) and even a performance in the presence of Princess Margaret at the Berkeley Square Ball! Currently Jim is recording a new album with the Hollywood Killers, to be released before Christmas 2010. The band are at present gigging in the south of England.
