Blending raw soulfulness, haunting melodies, and lyrical agility, Jim’s incredibly unique style of singing and songwriting has been captivating audiences and critics alike. Jim was born in the Midwest in a small farming community. His music reflects the beauty and honesty of his birthplace as well as a strong work ethic and critical thinking skills instilled in him by his college professor parents.
“I have always had a very low tolerance for filler,” Jim Seem says. He expects from himself what he learned to expect from the great singers and songwriters he grew up listening to: Sam Cooke, D’ Angelo, and John Prine. Jim’s obsession and absolute faithfulness to detail is apparent in each of his songs. He says, “I need every melody, every phrase; every word to be perfect.”
Jim began writing music at the age of twenty. “Ever since then it’s been like a disease. These songs just come to me and never leave my head, no matter what I do.”
Within the past two years Jim has toured extensively, from NYC to Miami to Maui. His explosive, energetic performances have been embraced by audiences and adored by critics. Having already performed with Tim Reynolds, Jimmie Robbins, and Too Sorry for Apologies, Jim is positioned to experience a strong and long lived career in music.
