"By Jack Veasey"

"He has no need to resort to the sophisticated trappings so popular with rock performers. His unpretentiously witty patter between songs, not at all a front, sets you to feeling perfectly at ease, and his songs, delivered with a sometimes frightening intensity, often do just the opposite...

"Anyone who hears Jim Six comes away knowing him well; well enough to want to know him better. And suddenly knowing someone strong, and deep, and honest, isn't an experience that most of us have access to that often, or that easily. It's something we should take advantage of." - Happy Times, Philadelphia

"By Ed Peabody"

"Mr. Six's delivery is often reminiscent of John Prine with a touch of Tom Waits, but the influence of those two better known performers is not overpowering and, as a singer, he is largely his own man." - News of Delaware County

Bio

Jim Six was a full-time, professional musician for more than 10 years.

The singer/songwriter worked with performers such as Tammy Wynette, Mel Tillis, The Oak Ridge Boys, Tom Rush, David Amram, Eric Anderson, Livingston Taylor, John Denver, Emmy Lou Harris, Bonnie Raitt, Asleep At The Wheel, Penn & Teller and Patti Smith.

He started out as a solo artist/writer.

Eventually, he formed a trio called Jim Six & City Limits รข€” him on guitar, a steel guitar player and a bass player. Then, a drummer was added. Then a girl singer. Then another guitar player...and a manager...and an agent.

It was about then, in 1983, that Jim decided to call it quits. He hung up the guitar.

And didn't really touch it again for almost 23 years.

During those years, he returned to an earlier career as a journalist and spent 30 years writing a feature column for the Gloucester County/South Jersey Times.

Now he's back, writing songs and playing and singing better than ever.
