I grew up outside of Philadelphia, Pa. I had an early interest in music, which I pursued throughout my elementary and high school years by singing in school and church choirs as well as studying piano, though I later made the saxophone my primary instrument. I attended Boston's Berklee College of Music in the mid 1970's as a Music Composition major and Boston became my home for many years. While there I performed with funk/r&b and jazz bands throughout New England and Canada, opened for such music acts as James Brown, Roger Trautman/Zapp, Average White Band, Tower of Power and War, and also recorded two 45" records with the band DOWNTIME. I also arranged instrumental music scores for local radio jingles, a laserlight show and a gospel album while employed at Midgaard Studios. I returned to the Philadelphia area in 1990 and performed in several jazz and r&b bands, and also did music-related office and technical work. In 1999, I portrayed various music and acting roles in "The Buddy Holly Story" at Philadelphia's Walnut Street Theatre, and I continue to perform in that show in venues across the U.S. I have been a showband/orchestra woodwindist for Carnival Cruise Lines since 2000, and also arrange live band scores and synthesized music projects for many of the ship entertainers
