Biography

"Hope you brought a towel cause you're going to have to mop up the floor when I'm done with you" are the words of Jonathan Kehrer A.K.A J.K. describing the crowd when he's finished with one of his heart pounding progressive sets. "My number one goal is to destroy the dance floor, bust the speakers, and steal the show from the headliner! I come with my A-game so you better come with yours!" Is the cocky and confident attitude that JK exudes! These are very bold statements for such a young (24yr old) Dj/Producer/Performer, especially considering
that there are thousands his age and older that are trying to fight for the title of "The Next Big Thing" in dance music! So what makes this Confident, middle finger in the air rockstar looking Dj stand out from the rest of the pack? Well, while most of the other guys were spinning records in their mothers basement or playing small 10-20 person house parties, Jonthan Kehrer was out touring the U.S. playing in front of 50,000 screaming fans at the L.A. Memorial coliseum. While the other guys were standing in line with fake I.d's trying to see if the 21 & up club would let them slide in, Jonathan was performing at Mega-clubs such as Spundae in San Francisco, and Club Space in Miami! Not to shabby for a 19 year old kid fresh out of the Rave scene!

To quickly summarize Jonathan's story, we begin in Berlin Germany 24 years ago where he was born to a German father and a French mother. JK's father, a German radio and disc jockey influenced his son's progression into the electronic music explosion in the mid eighties. In 1990, his father bought him a piano and saxophone and this is where Jonathan would first discover his true passion for making music. In 1994, Jonathan bought his first computer and began to purchase audio and sequencing programs that would allow him to take the compositions he had in his head and lay them down in a sequenced format! This was mind blowing for JK and he soon became quite the programmer! Two years later, Jk's Programming skills caught the ear of Brad Harper, the founder of the live act entitled "Red Shift". Brad immediately took JK under his wing and began mentoring on his projects. In 1999, JK's
track, "Inertia" caught the ear of Danny B, the founder of such acts as "The Space Men" and "Trip Theory". Danny B, astonished at JK's
programming skills invited him in the studio to collaborate on a few Spacemen productions. At the conclusion of these projects, Danny B. proposed that JK should accompany Spacemen on their national tour and the the birth of JK's career as a performer was born.

Now, 5 years later, Jk's is making his presence felt around the the South East region of the United States. With Residencies at Sutra Lounge and The Mark Ultra Lounge in Atlanta Ga, Jk's sounds are
dominating the Progressive scene here in the south! With an upcoming 8 city west coast tour and recent releases on beatport.com and Itunes,
JK' is slowly but steadily making his name a force to be reckoned with in the EDM community!

Currently, JK is seeking bookings in other areas of the U.S. and abroad. With a Sound that won't stop, flawless mixing skills, and banging track selection, it will be no time at all before you see JK rocking a club near you!!
