Bio

My earliest exposure to music was primarily classical and show tunes, the best, of course, being West Side Story, followed by, with the help of my brothers, Blues, Folk, Calypso, Rock 'n Roll, some Country, Blue Grass, Jazz, Reggae, Soul, Funk. All of these different forms of musical expression embedded themselves into my musical sub-conscience and all helped to create a curious and compelling blend which I simply refer to as ' folk-rock-country-blues'
I am never happier than when I am playing music, whether it be in a public or private venue, The Town Green ,weddings, reunions, company partys, coffee houses and clubs with my Cape Cod band, "The J. Lay Band', and playing solo acoustic gigs around the east coast of Florida region where I currently live, to sitting around in my boxers, sprawled out on the couch with Martin in hands.
I have recorded 24 of my original songs, some obviously demo but most professionally arranged and produced. I am very proud of my music and grateful for the beautiful gift of music in my life.
I currently have a huge catalogue of new and old songs, some of which are begging for lyrics. I would be interested in collborating with a ' like-minded , musician - lyricist.
Music is the soothing salve of my life, my ticket back to me when I'm lost in the sensory overloaded turmoil of modern life and stalled creativity.
Music, like the ocean, is my church and every song comes to me as a sermon on a wave. Aaaamen !
