Bio

“Guilty of the Gospel”. This is the key-note phrase that describes the teaching and music ministry that J-Lee has been entrusted with. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, J-Lee manipulates the cultural methods of communication to deliver a message of repentance and hope to a generation desperately in need of a word. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is the center point of his message as he boldly proclaims it with no compromise and no shame like a voice in the wilderness.

As an artist J-Lee transfers his passion and zeal into every single spoken word set to music allowing for himself to become transparent exposing his love and pain for the world to look upon. As a producer he is committed to putting his whole heart and essence into every single musical piece capturing the mood of the emotion and expressing it through melodic sounds of praise and worship. As a Man of God, J-Lee stands for righteousness and holiness even when the voices of criticism and discouragement are constantly upon him. As a leader J-Lee has devoted himself to being a servant, serving the Kingdom through spiritual gifts and obedience to the will of the Father.

The first project “Change Gonna Come” was birthed for the sole purpose of stimulating change within the spirit of a nation. This project is so against the grain of what this society has become accustom to hearing that some might go as far as to call it controversial due to the nature of the subject matter and content. Each song is a carefully crafted sermon positioned inside of the vessel of hip hop allowing for the Word of God to be translated through a language that crosses ethnical lines and merges cultural gaps reaching a previously unprecedented generation in size. Metaphorically speaking, this album is the pulpit that J-Lee stands in front of to witness to what he describes as “The Urban Mission Field”.

Called for such a time as these, J-Lee has been placed on a journey to bring Light to the very places where darkness rules. To speak life where the voices of death have disillusioned and destroyed the hearts of men. To bring revival where the spirits of men have been lying dormant held captive by strongholds and principalities of unseen forces. His mission can be found in the passage of I Cor. 9:19-23 which gives further insight into the methodology and approach that is implemented in his ministry. Rather through music or teaching J-Lee brings a sense of freshness to the listener that is both comforting and challenging at the same time.

I Cor. 9:19-23
19 For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more; 20 and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; 21 to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; 22 to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. 23 Now this I do for the gospel’s sake…….
