JL MadSkillz
Julio Luis Sanchez Melendez aka JL MadSkillz was born in Puerto Rico and now resides in Jacksonville FL. At a very young age JL knew that music was in him and it was going to change his life. His first performance was at the age of 17 with a hip hop Christian church in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
When the urban hip hop reggaeton style began to grow JLs passion and eagerness grew with it. Eric Ithier, Manager/Owner of P.O.P RECORDS MUSIC GROUP has assisted with his dreams by signing JL MadSkillz and giving him the opportunity to make his music a reality and the ability to spread his music to the world. Being originally from Puerto Rico and having the ability to understand that reggaeton music comes from his island, he knows his audience will critique him on his lyrics and stage persona. He identifies with artist inside the reggaeton genre whom deserves respect for their lyrics such as the artist known as (Tempo). What sets JL apart from the mainstream is the ability to sing, as well as, rap inside the music he makes. He describes his style as commercial for radio and as versatile for all ages in this urban hip hop reggaeton generation.
In times like these, JL has realized that reggaeton music has open the doors for so many new artist, and given that same opportunity he wants to make history and change lives through his music. JL wants to inspire fans young and old just as many artists have inspired him.
His biggest influence in his life is his daughter and son he wants to show them that anything can be accomplished in life with some desire, passion and love. JL describes himself as a patient person, great sense of humor and yet a strong willed and determined human being. Not forgetting that he is very musically inclined with a great vocal and stage talent, always able to get his audience involved and into his music.

First song GATA DE DISCO went number one (1) 4 times on XM Radio Fuego 90 and stayed on the count down ten weeks
Second single DEJATE LLEVAR reach the number eight (8) spot in the Top Ten in the country of Australia and was nominated for best international reggaeton song in Toronto Canada. This song was selected to the December 2007 promo only CD for Caribbean Series.
Along with DEJATE LLEVAR his third single titled LATINOS BAILANDO featuring Dose the lead singer from the group Fulanito, was selected for promo only CD for the month of January 2008 Caribbean Series and February Tropical Series 2008. It was also selected by ASCAP LATINO to be played on their ASCAP NETWORK STREAMING RADIO STATION. The TV show Latino in the City which airs on LATV channel 229 has selected Jl's song as there theme song for the show for their third season.
Fourth song SOLO PA TI has also been selected by promo only CD for the month of May 2008 Caribbean Series the music video has been playing around the country on Music Choice on Demand and on all cable stations. LATV, MTV TRES and promo only has just picked it up for December 2008 Latin Series
Fifth Single El PILOTO DEL FLOW was just selected by Promo only for the month of March O9 Caribbean series.
Sixth Single MALAS INTENCIONES Ft DJ LM was just selected by Promo only for the month of November 09 Caribbean series
JL is in the process of recording his first solo urban Latin album titled La Sustancia the first single titled Si Alguan Vez is currently on iTunes and is distributed by Interscope Records Digital the song has made the Top 50 Reggaeton Charts for the month of Feb / March 2011 at position 22 also the song has been pick up on AOL Latino Radio Reggaeton / Urbano Station also has made promo only for the month of June 2011
JL has opened up shows for major artist such as Tito Nieves, Charlie Cruz, Xtreme, Toby Love, Jowell Y Randy, Zion Y Lennox, Raul Acosta (Oro Solido) Fulanito, Grand Combo, Wibal Y Alex Julio Voltio and DeLa Ghetto just to name a few.
Jl has also won the MTV Tr3s & Ourstage.com Contest El Headliner for the month of November the grand prize were as follow to have is own segment on these shows Lo Que Te Pica, Music My Guey Blogamole, Free Latin Music Downloadable Link on the website for a month.
