Lyrics

In the Summertime

Written By: Matt Miers

Oh how she loves to tell me she loves me, She says
Just not in front of certain peoples eyes
'Cause they might not understand
Oh but she says,
It's alright if you come over tonight,
I'll be waiting,
By my door.
Yes, and if you knock three times,
And then you call my name,
You won't be waiting,
Anymore.
Oh, in the summertime
She looked so fine
Standing there with the moon in her hair,
Oh in the summertime.
So I drove up to the Hill last night,
Just to see,
If I could sort myself out right
And make a little sense,
Of the mess that I fell in.
I looked over the city lights,
It's so easy to pretend
That there all fallen stars
I make a wish on every one
that I could be where you are,
Oh in the summertime,
And she looked so fine
Standing there with the moon in her hair.
Yes it was summertime.

My Kindest Addiction

Written By: Matt Miers

Last night,
You said you were sorry
I know you meant every word
I thought that this was over,
But it seems so absurd,
Now you cigarettes fading,
I'm a joker in a curse.

If you need someone to call on
If you need someone to save
I would be your invitation
Cause you know that you're my
Kindest Addiction

I look forward
Every time I see your face
Hear you voice or feel your touch
Yes you're my saving grace
I step back,
Every time you do me wrong
But I know that it's alright,
You're a blackbird singing my song

If you need someone to call on
If you need someone to save
I would be your invitation
Cause you know that you're my
Kindest Addiction

Halo

Written By: Matt Miers

Walk down the street to find a halo on your doorstep
Leave a flower, then turn and walk away.
This ring of salt, it does not slow all my ambition.
I know what I feel, it's not some passing thing.

Street lamps lead me to her door sometimes,
I find her standing there.
Hiding those pretty green eyes
Underneath her long granola hair.
Angel's eyes and a devil's grin
Soft as silk yet sharp as sin sometimes
I hope she lets me in.

Walk down the street to find a halo on your doorstep
Leave a flower, then turn and walk away.
This ring of salt, it does not slow all my ambition.
I know what I feel, it's not some passing thing.

She makes me laugh she makes me smile,
Her Springtime Eyes hold something inside,
That winter just can't touch
But seasons change from time to time,
I know all this to well,
Sometimes not well enough.

But I will always remember the spring of 2005,
when I laid so many flowers down,
So near to your sleeping eyes.
Will you remember our favorite things,
Under Starry Nights?
The Cafe Terrace, it's beautiful, it's beautiful tonight,

Walk down the street to find a halo on your doorstep
Leave a flower, then turn and walk away.
This ring of salt, it does not slow all my ambition.
I know what I feel, it's not some passing thing.
Walk down the street to find a halo on her doorstep,
Leave a flower, then turn and walk away.

Another Story Told

Written By: Matt Miers

I found a place
Where no map can lead
Where time stands still
and the colors bleed

Fell through a shade
Of the deepest something
On the other side
There's so much of nothing

Oh, oh,
Just another story told x2

Set off inside
Of a Cannonball
Want to see the world
Want to take it all

Broke through walls
That we've always known
Freedom's wings
Carried us along

Chorus

Chorus

Followed the Rain
Up to the mountains
Where the earth meets sky
And the clouds surround us

Found my way
To relate to stone
Kissed June in July
Now I'm alone

Chorus

Sand & Silver

Written By: Matt Miers

Loosen these sleeves I beg of you,
Unlock the door to my padded room,
I need just a moment of sanity in here.

There's a cross on the wall thats been starring at me,
Hung in it's place by a nail properly,
And it's making assumptions of salvation tonight.

But there's an amber hue I've been longing to see,
So bartender please don't forget about me,
If salvation is temporary, Ill take mine to go.

But I've got my own little secrets,
And I don't need your sympathy,
So go.

Life can be funny when you're thinking out loud,
I say you're a fool with your head in the clouds,
because you've got to go deeper before you can see.

It's Sand & Silver all over this place,
Vanity and Time all take their place,
Underneath the mighty dollar that we're so scared to burn.

Refrain

Refrain

Maybe the devil is your god's favorite angel,
And maybe your stories have him misunderstood,
There would be no great heroes without their foes to fame.

Refrain

So go

Lazy Pant's (Emo's Lament)

Written By: Matt Miers

I'm gonna change these clothes cause their making me lazy yeah
I'm gonna change these clothes cause their making me lazy yeah

But Tomorrows coming like a brand new day
With brand new hopes and brand new fears
And a brand new sun to rise above
And dry up all these wasted tears.

Hey Hey Yeah.

I've got 2 cans of coke and a bottle of bourbon, gonna make out alright.
I've got 2 cans of coke and a bottle of bourbon, gonna make out alright.
I've got money in my pocket, gonna say my name outloud tonight,
And a lights gonna shine gonna, gonna make myself so proud tonight.
But I got problems that I can't fix, I know I smoke too many ..cigaretttes,
And I got questions without any answers, think I'll ask myself tonight .

Hey Hey yeah.

I'm gonna get myself some honesty alright,
I'm gonna get myself a little honesty alright, tonight.
Well sometimes I do and sometimes I don't, when it's time to tell the truth,
Yeah well, sometime I do and sometimes I don't when It's time to tell the truth.
When my Brother falls down, do I pick him up? I wish that I could tell you,
Every time, Every time, with my head held high but I don't Know if that's true

Hey Hey Yeah.

Christy's Song

Written By: Matt Miers

He's told her story,
A thousand times.
Somehow it seemed different,
When her name was in the lines.
He hoped that change,
was coming near,
But she knows her story,
And the end is clear.

But Christy never told no lies,
And Christy's got no alabies,
Loves those lily white little games.
She's the queen of diamonds,
He's the king of hearts,
But sometimes those two just don't mix,
And she thinks cigarettes are poetry.

She'll change every,
Second chance she gets,
To be just like,
All the rest.
What ever's best for her,
Is the easiest thing to get.
She thought this was different,
Such a cautious circumstance.

Chorus

Well, she caught his glance,
and he placed his bets,
But you know he doesn't stand a chance,
Because you just can't beat the house when their planning to cheat,
And her plain white lies just seem to hide
Right behind those crazy eyes,
But her lips don't know the difference,
No, her lips don't know the difference,

Chorus
