Music and Ministry
Joan Onwodi gave her life to Jesus Christ at the age of 11, and has been in the faith ever since. She also believes that she has given her life to Jesus forever as a living sacrifice. She is currently a member of the redeemed Christian church of God, were she serves as a worker in the choir department. Joan ministers in several gathering as a soloist and also with the church choir. Joan loves God and has a genuine heart of worship towards God. Her goal in ministry is to see everyone worship God with sincere hearts, and also to worship him in truth and in spirit. She prays that as she sings wounded and broken hearts will be healed, and hearts will be turned back to our lord Jesus Christ. She prays that as people worship God, they will worship him because of who he is and not for what they can get from God.

Early Musical Beginning
Music has always been an integral part of Joan’s life since she was a child. She started singing at the age of 11 in her children’s church choir in Nigeria, and has performed in several places as a child. She became the choir director of her teenage choir at the age of 13, and continued being the choir director until the age of 22. She was also the choir director for her high school’s fellowship for about 4 years. As a teenager Joan performed in several places, like in weddings, birthday parties, and also in several churches in Nigeria.

Currently
Joan Onwodi is from Nigeria in West Africa, but she is based in the United States of America where she is currently in college studying music. She will be releasing her first gospel album titled “Blessed” in January 2007. Joan will be going to Italy in May 2007 to study with some Italian professors because she was awarded a scholarship by the music department of her college. This scholarship was awarded to her because of her work study and her unique talent in music.
