"From the root to the fruit, from the seed to the flower," the Joanna Connor Band presents an intense, high energy, rhythmic, and virtuosic guitar-driven musical experience... pushing the envelope of the blues by combining funk, rock and world beat, the audience will be compelled to get on their feet. Joanna's fine soulful voice, and most notably her lead and rhythm guitar mastery, has received accolades from such publications as GUITAR PLAYER, GUITAR WORLD, THE VILLAGE VOICE, PLAYBOY MAGAZINE, BILLBOARD, DOWNBEAT, RELIX and most major newspapers. She has either shared the stage or toured with JIMMY PAGE, BUDDY GUY, OTIS RUSH, ROBERT CRAY, POI DOG PONDERING, LUTHER AND BERNARD ALLISON, ALBERT COLLINS, LOS LOBOS and numerous others. Her multicultural band has toured Europe 26 times and was the subject of a WDR (German Television) documentary. Joanna has also done workshops both overseas and in the U.S. She was the first artist on an independent label that GIBSON GUITARS has ever signed to a product endorsement deal. This past March the band was asked to be a part of the famed SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST MUSIC SHOWCASE. The band will be featured on an upcoming episode of PBS' MOUNTAIN STAGE (radio and TV) appearing with LOS LOBOS. They were recently featured on the HOUSE OF BLUES RADIO HOUR and will be on the Fall programming schedule as featured artists on XM SATELLITE RADIO'S BLUESVILLE.
